A couple of years ago, I voted in the Met's listenerfavorite contest for the Saturday broadcasts. There was a Callas Lucia and a Tebaldi Forza. I am an inveterate Callas queen, but not rabid and fully aware of her ample vocal and technical faults. I voted for Tebaldi's Forza; it was spectacular. Thanks for this video.

It may not be evident at the begginig, but there are some moments in this aria in which the singer must soar over the orchestra and the chorus. And Tebaldi does it seamlessly. A forceful, yet heavenly Leonora.
