I have same engine with EDC gearbox and it's same, from 160km/h I need long way to accelerate over 170-180. But new Scenic is still really nice car. If you need more power than buy 1.6 dCi or new generation of engine 1.7 @120 or 150 HP.

As somebody said, this is a engine for cruising at 120-130 km/h in autobahn where you can drive until the end of the world....or the fuel. I would have liked to see this car in a 2 way road to see It overtaking another vehicle. And that with only the driver inside....good test!!!!

We have previous model of scenic with same engine. its not a demon ,but its not slow either. You wont race other cars in it,but its pretty nippy and have enough of torque for everyday driving. For speeds up to 140 its great

2:38 Ist halt ein dCi 110 Motor drinnen, wenn man mehr Leistung will dann kauft man halt mit einem 150 Motor oder wie es noch früher gab den 200 Motor. Leider gibt es den 200 Motor nicht mehr. Wir haben den mit dem 150 Motor und ist damit auch um viel besser als bei den Vorführwagen mit dem 110 Motor.

Very beautiful car! Seems to be quiet also. This engine on this type of car (fridge on the wheels - aka minivans) is just for the economical stuff. Eco means max 140 km/h. At 180km/h the instant is easy 11l/100km. Also on Laguna or other heavy body doesn't makes any speed performance.

I own the car with the 130 PS diesel engine and i drove long distance autobahn with speed of 180 km/h if possible at about 6.7 l/100km, loaded with 3 adults + 2 children and luggage. I guess if I would go 180 all the time it would go up to maybe 8l/100 km. I have to say i never saw it above 7.4 l/100 km average.

@@sven31415 NEVER 6.7 liters at 180km/h ! Maybe going down from a cliff =))) Yo've looked at the average consumtion and maybe you marked couple of time the 180Km/h. The average at 130km/h is 6 - 6.5 liters, and increase significantly after this speed.

110cv on 1600kg 200kmh? Impossibile.. it’s only downhill... Mini Cooper d(across 1150/1200kg) with 116cv does 195kmh(gps). you shouldn't evaluate your maximum speed when going downhill

Why dont you check the centre of gravity and the aerodynamics. Plus he was driving on flat road not downhill. If not he would have specifically tell downhill. Also for a 7 seater SUV/MPV 160kmh and above is too fast for a 7 seater. Your just saying this because u own a mini cooper d

I really do not get the point of driving like this going into 4.200 RPMs. No one is going to drive this car like it was a sport car, why not show us instead how it behaves during a normal usage? For example, why not speed up all the way to 160 switching gears around 3.000 RPMs maximum? I'm still trying to figure out what the RPMs are for 136km/h on gear 6....

Nice family car. I would remove that tiny engine and gearbox then put a 2.5tdi or 3.0tdi. Chip tune it and it would become a beast.

saw one of these the other day on a 69 plate, the 'E' had already fallen off the back - Renaults definitely dont have the best quality control that's not to say I don't like them though, the MK3 Megane is the most comfortable car I've ever been in edit: rewording...

I have a 115hp C4 Picasso 1.6 HDI. It’s actually pretty nice for highway driving. It feels very stable even at 170/180 and you won’t have any problem overtaking someone. It seems to be a bit faster accelerating than this Scenic tho.

@@VolvoXC90TV Yap there is like something wrong. Idk if the engine need to be slow like that or idk, you can see video on my yt what does 1.6tdi 77kw in touran do. On highway when I'm cruising its accelerating better at 2000 rpm then this one at 3-4k rpm.
