Renault grand scenic mark III door locking mechanism replace part 1

Thanks, this covered a lot, and was a great help. The bit I got stuck with was releasing the door handle from the mechanism after removing the "plug". You have to pull back on the door handle towards the rear of the door, then open the handle (as normal) and it unclips itself and swings out as you show in the video. I could then unscrew the screw at the pivot end of the handle (torx T20), and release the handle from the interior door mech. Unclip the door switch from the interior mech, and you can then extract the handle and take the mech out of the door. I was trying to replace a failed locking mechanism and solenoid - I had to do all this just to detach the bowden cable (the cable with the "blob" on the end) before I could fit the new mechanism. After that, as Mr. Haynes is fond of saying, "re-assembly is the reverse of disassembly" 😃 Thanks, you saved me a lot of time, effort and money.😎

Big thanks for the video, stood out in the cold today yours popped up first and showed me what to do. Slid the clip over using a flat blade via the round access port that has a bung stuck on it (still fitted in your vid).

Hi mate, great vid many thanks. I had to replace my drivers door due to accident. i have changed everything over but i notice now my door wont lock with the remote key. All other doors lock and was working before doing the swap (only thing i have re fitted is the door card yet). Any ideas what iv done wrong?. I noticed where the door handle is a little sensor thing little square ...does this sensor apply to the key and should be swapped over aswell.? i cant understand why its not locking

Hello,if you only take out the screws of the central lock,can it be taken out and hang aside so you can open the lock and change the electric motor?
