Agree with most of what she said but its not a lagging, boring car to drive; quite the opposite if you've got the turbo diesel. I have a 6 month old white one and its a FANTASTIC car...very comfortable cruiser and rather exclusive. The only downside is what it cost me to buy (£25k)

I have the 2litre turbo petrol 180hp gtline one. It's pretty quick but very thirsty .I wouldn't agree with her about the handling even when the roof is down. It holds the road well for a cabriolet of its size. And as for the noise when the roof is down like she mentioned .I'd disagree again with her its no noisier than any other cabriolet with the roof down .

My partner has the predecessor to this model, a 2007 edition Cabriolet, if this one is anything like the last one, if your buying used you need to look out for the following.. Front ball joint wear, these are a weak point with the Megane (in ANY model, but worse on the cab because of the weight shift of the roof) Rear window failure, this is usually because of dirty window rubber sills, they need cleaning regular or the water seeps in between the seals and frame causing the window TEMIC control modules to fail. Rear brake pads, it eats them due to the extra weight of the roof motors, also check rear wheel bearings too. Rear suspension. The Megane cab would benefit more from slightly lower, stiffer suspension than putting it on the same suspension as its hatchback counterpart. less nose in the air at the front when travelling with the roof down. Also, AVOID the 1.9 Dci. They are prone to oil leaks/ Gearbox failures! They are good cars to own though, we've had hers nearly 5 years and the worst parts we've had to replace is the complete roof rubber seals (which the rubber seals are NOT cheap to replace, dealership only for these I'm afraid.)

Dan McCarthy some soft top convertibles let you operate the roof while in motion. but you cant go very fast, 30mph is the top speed while doing that.

roxoleto I've seen one and been in one and I have to say it's the best car I've ever been in, the comfort levels are fantastic and you get lots of equipment and you feel very safe in them. I find french cars much better than any other sort of car. There's a fresh comforting and safe feel about them.
