Renault has finally launched the Triber in India at a starting price of Rs. 4.95 which goes all the way up to Rs. 6.49 lakh (all prices ex-showroom,India). The car will be available in 4 variants, RXE, RXL, RXT, RXZ. The Triber is essentially a sub-four meter MPV based on a modified version of the CMF-A platform which also spawns the Kwid, but the French carmaker claims to have upgraded it with as much as 90 per cent new components in a bid to make it more spacious and refined. The idea here is to come up with an alternative for buyers who want a more versatile product at the price of a hatchback.
The Triber is a seven-seater MPV with detachable mechanism for the last row seats which allows you to remove them completely and make way for more luggage. You get two individual seats in the third row so you can take just one when six are on board or both seats when fewer people are travelling. And the third row can also be used by adults for a short commute, thanks to the floor depth. The boot space is limited to 84 litres when all seats are in use while it can be expanded to 625 litres.

All said and done, it's a decent car. Apart from the engine which is a lil small, there is ample noise from outside. Especially in traffic you don't get a quiet cabin.

Triber's engine is very powerful. It is not kwid's 1 litre engine. It is an ENERGY engine combined with dual VVT. I did a test drive, power was excellent. 6 people on board, AC on, pulled easily. It pulls easily from 7 kmph in 2 gear. 35 to 100+ in 4th gear was very easy. Renault was supplying engines to Rolls Royce. In India Renault- Nissan provide engines to Benz A class vehicles. Very innovative and technologically highly advanced company. Intelligent gear ratios along with low, mid and high-end torque bootser helps to perform better. Ride and handling is a bench mark.

Very detailed review which has covered almost all possible queries. I think we should consider Triber as 5 seater with 2 extra seats which can be added whenever needed. So its price should be less than Tiago, Santro and WangonR otherwise it's future will be doubtful as those cars have bigger engine and are better equipped.

My first car was Renault Kwid RXT, main issues I faced was: 1. Whenever AC is on the power of car drastically reduced, you can't even overtake other car 2. When AC is on Engine noise was quite high, I remember my friend once said "ye gaadi me Window AC laga hai kya, itna noise kyu hai" 3. Poor built quality, even a normal hit used to create big dent on the car 4. Maximum speed was 110, and on that speed the entire car used to be so noisy and vibrating I hope renault have worked on it with new Triber

I take test drive from Renault (Karnal, Haryana). Triber is best in handling and power.. But everyone wants to a power ful performance car. But triber had a 1.0 (1000 cc) vvt engine. So if triber wants to make winner as it will be need a 1.4 or 1.5 p/d engine required.
