Not convinced. Do it again with 3 kids under 7. Bet it's fine with the previous Scenic but not this one.

When i was a young father I had a PSA 106 (also an EV !) with "3 kids under 7" at the back and it was fine, and all were in proper child seats. So I think it will be ok with such a quite bigger car. If not, just buy some train tickets to go "from UK to Paris".

@didierpuzenat7280 child seats are significantly bigger now, whereas car interiors aren't a lot bigger even though the car itself is bigger. You can see that the middle seat isn't a full size seat, so it isn't going to fit a modern child seat in it

@@cecilsspecials The fact that the middle seat is not as large as side seats does not mean it is small. BTW, the size of the child seat is not important, the main point for a child seat is to be well attached to the car, and this Scenic can handle 3 ISOFIX seats. But indeed, the car could have had one more ISOFIX seat. But you do not need the same type of seat at every ages, starting at 5 years (at least in France) child seats are using the seat belt of the car so ISOFIX is not so important. To conclude, sure it could be even better, but in practice people rarely have 3 children under 5, or not for a long time so they can use the front seat for one of them even if it is a bit less convenient.

@didierpuzenat7280 the fact the middle seat is smaller DOES mean the interior is small. It's the same as virtually every other car now. The Scenic generations before it had 3 equal full size seats which easily fitted three child seats in a row together at once, which set it apart from other cars and placed it in the same category as the Citroën Space Tourer, Ford S-Max, VW Sharan, and a few others, which are all great as a family car. Unfortunately the very fact that the Scenic is now a regular car styled as a SUV means that people who have actually chosen the Scenic before won't now touch it because it's demonstrably smaller inside, and they will go to their competitors. I should know personally, I am one of these who absolutely needs three equal full size seats right now, sitting in a last gen Grand Scenic who unfortunately won't move to the new Scenic for this very reason.

The British government has not done enough for the electric car charging infrastructure. It is an absolute nightmare in Britain trying to find a charger that actually works is even becoming a big problem in Britain. My brother had an electric taxi as did many other taxi owners and most have given up with electric cars and returned to diesel. Thousands of taxi owners have sent Emails to the British government complaining about the electric charging for cars not being good and that many are not working. But the British government had ignored them and many taxi owners then realised that electric cars don't hold their price and made big loss having to trade them in because the batteries in electric cars eventually depleted after around 2 years of driving and only getting half the miles they got when new on full charge.

I had electric car but got rid of it because the infrastructure for changing electric cars is no good. Many chargers are not working and not enough for the amount of electric cars on the road now and the price of charging is going up and is NOT much cheaper than diesel which i have now returned to as it was extremely frustrating driving around trying to find available charging station and one that works i had nearly got into fighting with people asking when i would be finishing my charging as there are rows of people waiting in their cars for another car to finish charging. I witnessed husband's and wife's falling out with eachother in front of their children at service stations blaming eachother for buying an electric car as they had to wait for over 2 hours just to get plugged into an available charger then having to wait for another one to two hours for the car to charge.

I have been driving an EV for more than 20 years, and never had any trouble to charge, or even had to wait to charge. And since 2018 I have a Tesla model 3, the only car of a family of 5, and we have been all over Europe without any issue to charge, and it includes France, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, The Netherlands, etc. And most of the time charging just takes me 4 seconds, ie the time to plug. When you charge at home I think it is obvious, and on long trip it means that while the car is charging the family can have a break (especially the driver). It means having a walk, going to toilets, having a coffee, etc. Some locations (especially Tesla hotel superchargers) even have a playground, a table football, a billiard table, etc. And most DC charges take 15 minutes, in the worse case 30 minutes, because of course the goal is not to fully charge. In fact, after several hours of highway driving I would have stop anyway. Regarding prices, it costs me 1,5 € for 100 km when charging at home (so 95% of the time) and still far less than with a petrol car when DC charging at superchargers. So I don't know, maybe you live in the worse country in the world for EVs, or maybe your car is not suitable for long trips eg it cannot DC charge, or maybe you have selected the worse places and hours to charge. And yes, sure, AC charging can take hours, but you AC charge at places where you want to stay for several hours anyway (hotels, restaurants, shops, touristic sites, work places, etc.) and when you have finished you just unplug and go what ever the state of charge. Anyway, you can of course drive an ICE car if you wish, at least for now.
