The acting is phenomenal, the whole movie is a work of art that breathes feeling. It made me cry like a child and I am 62 years old. I would have loved to write in French, but I never learned it and it was a big mistake. It is one of the most beautiful languages.

Le casting était parfait, j'ai complètement craqué pour Rémi. Sa sensibilité est si apparente, c'était parfait pour que nous soyons affectés par le dénouement. J'espère que le film gagnera aux Oscars.

These two delivered performances that are better than most adult performances at 13-14 YRS OLD. and it was their 1ST time acting. That speaks to just how great their chemistry and friendship was/is offscreen, because their bond in the movie, was one of the most heartwarming, beautifully poignant, intimate and tender relationships between 2 fictional characters ever portrayed. The boys just smashed it, in fact they both deserved best actor awards, especially eden.

@@owensmith3995 Ahhh yes....because dialogue is the definitive representation of an actor's talent or contribution to a movie. In a movie where dialogue is actually kept to a minimum with a show don't tell approach like it even makes sense for his character as well, being more introverted, unless he's around leo. And Leo carried the movie because he had more screen time and the movie focused on leo's perspective. I'm not at all underselling leo's performance, but remi doesn't get the credit he deserves, especially for being one of the most integral parts of the movie i.e. setting the entire foundation with leo, for the rest of the movie.

@@akosimj9544 Lowkey agree.... lukas dhont the director joked about putting jamie lee curtis into one of his movies and casting her as the teacher and casting gustav and eden as her students. and I know he was joking but I wana see it happen!! gustav and eden's chemistry is some of the best ever put to screen, and seeing them in another movie together, its a must.

Excellent film. Why no English subtitles? Like it or not, English is the international language ! Had it been a French film I would understand more since the French are so protective of their language and some are a little prejudiced against England. Perhaps, as in the Netherlands, there is a rise in nationalism in Belgium (presumably encouraged by the Government), whose citizens used to pride themselves on their English language skills. N. B. 1. We in England use many French words in our language without a problem. 2. Almost as many UK citizens voted to stay in the EU as voted to leave and we weren't allowed a second referendum because the UK Government knew that the result was likely to swing to staying in the EU (if that's got something to do with it, although I think the rise in Nationalism started before Brexit).
