After extracting our honey, this is the process we undertook for the first rendering of our beeswax! We first rinsed the leftover wax from extraction with water (and used that honey rich water to make more mead) and then used the remaining wax to melt on a fire. After this is complete we will repeat the process 2 more times to get nice clear wax ready for use. This was rendered on an open campfire with metal drum, a valve and a few buckets, pretty simple. We use honey from our own apiary to make all our own mead that is used as the base for all our vermouth and apéritifs
