I think the reason they broke up is that in the years leading up to their separation, 2010-2014, Hrithik was extremely busy with his career and wasnt spending as much time at home...Suzanne felt that they had lost their bond and was no longer in love with him...although she still loved him as a person. Rather than stay married for the sake of society, she chose to end their legal union. People find it odd that they are still on such good terms. I truly believe that Hrithik wanted to stay married but for Suzanne she couldn't feel authentic or honest by staying in the marriage when she was no longer in love with him. That's why she wanted to separate. There was no cheating or abuse. For many people it's hard to understand but at least the kids can grow up knowing their parents still love and respect each other even if they cannot stay as husband and wife.

No they aren't back together. They are now in a peaceful stage and are happy with their partners. They also made peace with the divorce and are in talking terms. We want to believe in one and forever but boom life has lot of layers and we are constantly changing. People dont just easily divorce if everything is good. Time brings biggest surprises both good and bad and time is a biggest healer. Change is the only constant. Nothing is permanent.
