Yu yu Hakusho is an oddity for me. It's one of those shows I went into hearing generally good things about, but almost nobody talked about it. It's kinda like Akira in that sense, something so amazing that people don't even talk about how amazing it is. This show utterly surprised me, and hit me at the exact right moment in my life. as soon as I finished, I began rewatching it, not because the show was the best, but the characters had become a part of me. I just wanted to spend more time with them, as they slayed demons and defended living world. I'm writing this here because I feel as though the music of this show is superb. Most soundtracks I don't care about, but there are a few exceptions where I go out of my way to find them. This show is one of those few. Yu yu Hakusho is by no means perfect, nobody claims it is. But it's one of those shows that has an odd charm to it, an allure if you will. It's a show I can see myself revisiting when I'm older and loving it just as much as the first time I watched it. Edit: so its been three years since i wrote this comment, a lot has changed. Something i didnt mention here is that yu yu hakusho got me back into drawing, and ive been practicing and honing my drawing over the course of these last 3 years, first going back into traditional, and now doing a mix of both traditional and digital, but mostly digital. Now im sitting in a college dorm drawing, going to school to be an animator. Looking back at this, its kind of insane that this one show got me to put everything aside and finally go into the field ive always wanted to go in, but never had the courage to. Im glad to see this comment resonates with so many people, and i wish you all the best.
@stefannotchev72093 жыл бұрын
Definitely, I feel like one of the main reasons why this has become my favorite anime is because of the characters. Not only do they feel realistic, but they also feel super relatable to me, especially with where I am in life now. It’s just so awesome to watch them grow, both in character and in strength while being completely relevant to the plot and not really convoluted or forced, and I think that’s one of the reasons why I love this show so much.
@kingmeruem88213 жыл бұрын
@@stefannotchev7209 true these characters are what make the show to be honest. Without them there is not much. Other shows have stuff besides the characters that make it stand out like Hunter X Hunter with its power system world bulding and other things but Yu Hakusho is its characters.

There was a time when the world didn't expect much of me. I was a child, and every weekend was reminiscent to the last; make sure I was home every Saturday night to tune into Toonami & watch Yu Yu Hakusho. What a series. A flawful spectacle. Filled with comedy, epic moments, and relatable characters. Yusuke, a rebel living under a single mother, who misbehaves at school bc well, how can you not? Mom is drinking her life away and seemingly could not care less about our future spirit detective. Then there's Kuwabara. The epitome of loyalty and pride. Even if he could backstab someone he wouldn't, because he's "a MAN". Can't forget the beautiful Kurama, the little red riding hood of the series, except he's the wolf depicted as the red riding hood. Take his appearance for granted and you'll be seeing Koenma in the Spirit World. & ahh, can't forget Hiei! Short, stuck up, bratty little Hiei. Who pretends he has no care in the world, but his care for his world is his 3 best buddies mentioned previously, and his beautiful sister Yukina. Don't you ever say this series isn't spectacular. Don't say it's ordinary. Don't say you don't see the hype. Just bc you expected something else doesn't validate your reason for calling this amazing work of fiction bad. Flawed? Yes. But bad is something this series will never be. Forever Fornever

DBZ is a good anime but it is kinda boring when you have watched more than 3 animes. the fights are all the same. villains are the same. Goku always gets the W with some stupid plot buff and villains get stupid somehow at the end... Vegeta (the best character arg) never wins. He became a joke after the namek saga... Watching this weirdly made me reflect on how much these characters we can relate to. Yusuke all about his lover yet has to fight for justice and for fun. Kuwabara a man of right and kills the path of wrong. A logical and fruitful Kurama a precocious young one who has an "old soul" with an amicable out put through anything. Lastly Hiei a formidable person not just warrior or a simple yet one who is built to overcome pain tragedy and defeat. A gift to show no matter how much darkness there is a light will always be ignited at the end of the tunnel. Therefore you have the protagonist in which you can sympathize and empathize with sometimes even the anti-heros or the villains... Toguro a man of honor and great dignity who will adhere to a cause to stop what needs to be stopped whether good or bad. And let's not forget Sensui a loyal dedicated yet delicate soul who was possessed with being shocked and needing to eradicate whatever because of the multiple personalities that told him to do so. Those personalities were only mere reflections of past and present experiences.

I'm writing this comment whilst partly through the last arc of Yu Yu Hakusho. I've been watching the anime over the past month or so and have fallen in love with it. This shonen has such a human touch to it and I love almost everything about it. For the past while, I've been searching for the last couple of songs in this video as they are so beautiful; one of them plays during a certain character's death which was one of the most touching yet sombre scenes I had seen in any anime for a long time. I love Yu Yu Hakusho so much and am so grateful for this video - it has some of the show's best tunes ♥️

That hits hard 05:00. YYH has a place in my heart as HxH and Berserk also both have. I feel so emotionally attached to some anime and manga and not to friends. I guess it's just that animes like YYH shows genuine friendship and honor unlike the actual world. True friends fight together. Since the first time I saw Kuwabara-kun I fell in love with him. No men like that following a strict code of honor. Love that.

Man, seeing Toguro like that brought back major feels. Gotta admit it makes me weep and wish I could stop the guy from that path
@joebeast156 жыл бұрын
DragonBallZ his story is tragic indeed. He was a man really consumed with an all encompassing, self loathing guilt at not being able to protect his students. You can really sense the self hatred he had, which leads to his decision to punish himself even more in death.
@zomboids21004 жыл бұрын
There really was no way of saving toguro at that point. He was consumed by the guilt of his sins, his weakness to protect what mattered, and his humanity stripped away after he chose to become a demon who would eventually kill his beloved. The only road he believed there was left for him was to a place where he'd face a grueling punishment, one where his soul would cease to exist.

Glad I took the time to watch it lmao. It’s too bad most people who have just started getting into anime in the last few years haven’t seen it. Personally I only watched it bc I knew it was written by the same guy who wrote HxH and figured it was worth a shot. Ended up liking it even more than HxH

Seek the ones who are trustWORTHY you have to rest in comfort knowing they're good from their actions and patterns and you'll be set into a "place" of peace knowing who is on your side yeah issa tough road but just know you have to fight it. If I were to relate to a character it'll be Yusuke because he knows when to fight he has might and he's comfortable with evoking emotions the right way when in difficulty and both sympathize and empathize he's so loyal and a jackass like me how do I know my family calls me a jackass because of my stubbornness to let things go and how intelligent they are.

Good and evil are two opposite sides that exist on the same coin. Humanity has both parts inside them, but the bad doesn't mean that's all there is to it in our world. What part you choose to act upon defines your humanity. And that in turn is what shapes the world we live in.

Yusuke saving puu ...top 5 shonnen anime action feels moment ever ..I'm talking about a scene that has every feel not just sadness but every emotion ...or not just 1 moment but full emotional scene ...up there above even yusuke saving kurama from the mirror giving up his own life instead.. yusukes sacrifice for keiko.. yusukes wake ..kuwabara death.. Genkais death ..yusukes 2nd death.. Toguro final words...kuwabara sacrifice speech vs risho ....kuwabaras breakthrough vs seaman ..so many epic sad moments man in this show alone but its the clear best cause of the dramatic music ..slow at the start builds slowly makes you feel comfortable safe and erotic then as the scene quickly turns sadder and dire you feel the sudden desperate anger and fear and danger yusuke does and then he has his breakthrough and the heroic music near the end and then just ends suddenly and quiets down ..beautiful scene...sensuis yukina and Toguro back story reveals were brutal .. ..just ugh ...I have the puu scene with krillin 2nd death which led to gokus rage exploding into ssj ...hinatas sacrifice vs pain leading to narutos transformation pretty much losing all hope and despairing .. luffy yelling to chopper to shut up and to come along when he keeps making excuses for why he cant and chopper agreeing seeing the cherry blossoms as he is leaving on the snowy hill crying happy tears but sad too .... yugi beating aten sending him back to the past pretty much killing him so he can go back to where he belongs and ending their friendship ....ash giving away butterfree...realizing he has to let him go and coming to terms with it being okay growing up.. Those are my top 5....yeah anime can make you hit all your feels at once sometimes wholy shit .....again these scenes make you feel every emotion not just sad

In the stillness of 1am, I find myself immersed in work, striving to give the best life possible for my family. The melodies of childhood anime drift through the air, stirring a wave of nostalgia that washes over me. I recall the carefree days spent with friends, where the opinions of others faded into the background, leaving only the essence of joy. Though I may never return to those moments, I hold them close, treasuring each memory like a precious gem.
