It's also just the language and cultural American internet influence on people, the local ones stay untouched, if Brazilian movies and people (my case) for example, just translated their lingo for sure would be offensive to a lot of people and also be non sensical. I'm an adult and I still love MLP. It's not a terrible show. It has good worldbuilding, nice & pretty visuals, neat character designs, decent story & music, and quite nice character arcs & character progression. There's a reason Gen 4 went on for 9 seasons, 2 movies, & a spin-off show with its own few movies. And the reason is because of how good it is and the fans - no matter their age - loved it. Every fandom always has its gross & disgusting freaks, and that sucks. The anime community is famous for it. But the cartoon isn't bad. Edit: It's not perfect, of course. Still has some mistakes & flaws.

Yeahhhhh, don't get me wrong I like it when they talk, and I get why they do it so it's transformative, but they sometimes tend to go on just a tad too long or talk about something completely unrelated that doesn't feel entertaining to listen to. I get maybe adding like ten to fifteen minutes to a twenty minute video, adding a full half an hour to it, it feels like they're maybe trying a bit too hard to stretch it out.

Yep. Talking about not enjoying a show is one thing. But to just go on and say that there's, in their rightful opinion, better shows to watch? Most fans are those who watched from the beginning. In fact, the unfortunate thing is, as a massive fan of both MLP, and Gravity Falls, I cannot find literally any merch of Gravity falls, even during its initial lifespan, but MLP was something that grew, and grew. And when it dragged me in, it was during the initial peak of the show. But that's it. Sure there's still a lot of obnoxious fans, but I managed to get away from all of that, sure I peek back in now but still... Just don't talk trash about something you didn't like and because it was popular. At least without being more level headed than, "haha grown men watched this show, that's weird." And then turn around and go, "well, everyone has their favourite things..."

Plus several movies and specials. And made more money than the other. In some ways, Mlp was more of a success than Gravity Falls in certain aspects.

Especially once the target demographic left, and their older siblings/other male figures watched and waited, it evolved to also include them in a sense. The show became more aware as it went on, while still staying true (in a broad sense) to its core! Gravity Falls on the other hand, was made and then slowly, and I mean, slowly pushed out. Did it make a greater product? Sure most of the episodes are amazing, but that is also what helped it not grow as gigantic as MLP. They had merch, between season events, and so much more!

With all due respect, I don't think it'd be a good idea to insinuate that My Little Pony is a worse show than other ones like Gravity Falls and Adventure Time. It's absolutely fine to have opinions about what TV shows are good, but even as someone who hasn't watched Friendship is Magic, I know there's a good amount of depth in the show that earned it the popularity it got. Heck, it's not that much different from other kids' shows like Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, and even Avatar: The Last Airbender in terms of being just as popular with adults as with kids, if not even moreso. I think it's just a matter of different tastes between different people.

I mean if a show can create an entire fandom where people are talking about it, I think they're doing something right. From what I heard, the first season 1 of MLP was pretty cheesy considering it's original target audience was young girls but once they realize their audience demographic was much older, they adjusted to appeal to them as well. I get some people will be like "why you watching this kid's show?" but then again why do many people enjoy watching Bluey? Even young adults watch bluey. If I can appeal to wide audience, I think they're doing it right.

Like I'm not gonna stand here saying it's a masterclass series everyone slept on. It's not perfect. Nothing is, and even the examples of Gravity Falls or Steven Universe are better shows, but MLP is not that bad. Why do you think fans are grown men in their 20's or older? Cause it was made for families and not just little girls, and when the shows creators knew this, they put more thought into jokes or stories or characters. Say what you want about it or don't watch it, I don't care, but don't act like watching a show because it wasn't"meant for others" is bad. If anything: it shows how good a show is BECAUSE multiple groups of people like it.

Ikr, I know someone who is a veteran from the Iraq war. Being a veteran does come with consequences, and the poor guy has PTSD to anger issues. And he said when he tried it, he was able to forget about happened to him. So in a way mlp helped people, it also got very popular from the same results. I did used to think that it was aimed for kids, but since I seen it, I'm more convinced that there was more then what meets the eye. If the renegades haven't seen it, then it's not their place to say their opinion. Now of course there's the weird ones (which is a minority) out there, but they can easily be ignored. Like my mother said, you'll never know if you like your vegetables if you tried them. I also tried watching Steven Universe, I wasn't really into it tbh.

With all due respect to you guys, even as someone who doesn't watch any MLP stuff, the stuff you said about MLP sounded a tad condescending, just a tad. Also, there's nothing wrong with Disney wanting to tell meaningful messages, and in my eyes, they still TRY to make good movies at the very least. Granted, the Disney company did make a lot of f*** ups (especially in recent years) and I'm not crazy at all about their live-action remakes, but I still have a huge soft spot for Disney Animation and Pixar (again, even if they had a bit of a creative decline the last two years), plus I'M an adult who still loves Disney and still watches their films and there are plenty of other adults that do as well cause not everyone clings on to BS bigoted agendas. i think if a show makes an audience outside of their target is pulled then the show went above and beyond OR did the wrong things for their target. Most shows are also appealing by genres so despite the target, the similarity in genres attract people. Honesty, even the world and combat of TLOU2 was quite bad, it was fairly glitchy and was softlock central. You can look up Tyler1's footage about it, and its gold. That game is such a pile of fecal matter, and that is objective fact. And Encanto was really bad, AT LEAST in the writing. Visuals ofc is phenomenal, but that's not surprising anymore. And the fucking Bruno song, god I never want to hear that ever again.
