Actually in medieval times, the vast majority of people could read, although there was a small amount of people that could write. Reading was taught to every kid living in the area in which the church is. The monks were showing kids the whole sentences and telling them what it means. Then they focused on certain words and that was enough to read basic stuff. Writing was for the smarter kids and the aristocracy. Although the King Vladislav Jagiello couldn’t write but he didn’t really need to, as he has people to do this. To sum it up, people could read these days Though I dunno how could Shrek read!

To be fair, the fact he said he wouldn't work for disney again doesn't mean it was true. Haven't you ever met someone who said "I'm never gonna do x" only to do it the next day? Please. Saying "I won't do x" only has any meaning when you've actually had the opportunity to do it again and refuse. Just look at the witcher writer. He gave away the rights to the games thinking they had no future. Even when offered what would've been his share if he hadn't refused he turned it down, then the game proceeded to make millions,even become Game of the year. Now he's pissed at the dev team, always shitting on the game and saying he wouldn't take the deal even if offered now. Is it truth or lie? Who knows, however, his bitterness doesn't play in his favor.

IT DESERVES TO BE RIPPED APART AND THROWN IN THE TOILET LIKE IT *DESERVES*. Okay, I'm exaggerating. I don't hate Shrek that much. However, I still don't like it. It relies too much on crude humor, the rips at Disney are just petty and mean-spirited, and the humor just isn't that funny to me. (Also, it helped kill Atlantis: the Lost Empire in the box office.) I respect that people like Shrek, and I can see why they do, but I just don't.
