Let me tell you how blatantly Sony butchered Peyo's work. When he died, he said in his will that his creation could be expanded upon and continued in comics, series and movies. He had one rule though: don't put them in modern times, keep them in their Medieval fantasy setting. And what did Sony do....

7:19 Simple. Money. Raja’s movies have historically pulled in major box office despite their overall quality (or lack thereof), with all but one of them (Yours, Mine and Ours) pulling in more than twice, and up to 7 times their budget in box office. He also has some extra clout from his previous work as the editor for the first two Home Alone movies, as well as Mrs. Doubtfire and several other Robin Williams movies.

It's a simple answer; with the Smurfs and Emoji Movie examples, they hire people who'll make it for a quick buck, so they don't have to try. With Into the Spider-Verse, they hire people that actually care about the source material, and will do anything they can to make sure it's good

The only movie that did the “beloved character from a cartoon goes to the real world and teams up with a B lister slumming it for a paycheque” shit right was Sonic and that’s only because Sonic and Tom had equal focus and Tom’s story well intersected with Sonic’s. Tom’s story about wanting to move on from his hometown and having to learn why the community needs him tied in well with Sonic’s arc of finding a home within the community and gaining a family, how the hell does “a guy coming to grips with being a dad” and Smurfs escaping Gargamel in New York City in anyway intersect or work

For people that complain about talking before or after and want reaction, called a fast forward button. I may not always enjoy some, but again fast forward.

i like Raja Gosnell as a film editor better than as a terrible film director.

17:40. So glad sonic didn't go that route. Yeah they were in the city but that was the last 20 minutes and it was san Francisco not freaking new york. How many movies are they going to make based in New York there are 50 states use something other than new york. I have seen 2 movies that take place in my home state. Meanwhile new York has millions.
