"The Term Pashudhan (पशुधन) in Sanskrit means Cattles are nations wealth. In ancient times, it was the responsibility of the state to protect the Pashudhan of the nation. This has been proven true, when it comes to Gobar Gas / Bio Gas.
The bio gas is a broader term, which encompasses production of fuel gas from variety of feed stock, Gobar i.e. Cow Dung (गोबर) being one of them. The Bio Gas plants are easy to setup and government aids the construction of such plants in variety of ways in India.
The major challenges in production of Natural Gas from Bio / Gobar Gas are the presence of considerable water vapor in the raw gas and many difficulties involved in gas purification system.
The biogas segment though in a primitive state is still a promising & economically viable option for solving the energy crises without having a carbon footprint from energy production.
