I'm not sure where I've heard this but Rengoku saying "umai" with every bite was something that used to be a tradition among the samurai because there was a saying that "Savour every bite of your meal like its the last one". I believe Rengoku saying Umai just signifies him knowing that his death might come at any time and so it did.

Hi, the seven first episodes of the second season are basically the mugen train movie with just a different beginning added as you can see. I really recommend you to skip those because as soon as you'll be in the train that will basically be the movie copied and pasted
