Tried Rennsport in Katowice - first thing i noticed is how late you can sometimes brake into the corner, and you still manage to slow down the car on time. From my experience it felt mor like a Prototype/Openwheel brakes with ABS than GT3 brakes.

I'm an ex-race engineer. I worked throughout the 90's and into the 2000's. I left the sport for family reasons and the obvious lifestyle balance which is completely missing in Formula 1 or sports cars @ Le Man. I've kept in touch with racing through colleagues and surprisingly through sim racing, which I enjoy with ATLAS MOTEC etc. I have no idea why a new sim would focus on GT3 when the market is already complete with such cars, for better or worse. It seems a business decision without sense, when many other formula both present or historic could be explored in full, while offering a product different to Iracing, Assetto corsa competizione etc. It's not exciting and hard to follow.

That's how the community on Discord voted with 30% advantage (if I remember right) over any other class, I'm not too happy with this decision too but at least we can compare the physics to more titles and see where it can be improved but it's not gonna be just gt3 for sure.

Well its it looks to me a commercial decision , and aimed towards Esports , what other series could they do , F1 locked down, and trying to implement any other series would be a commercial disaster. to be honest no-one i.e. the vast majority, don't give two hoots about other racing series outside GT3 F1, and Nascars. that's just the way it is

There is a reason why all the sims primarily have GT3 right now, because it’s the most popular class. If Rennsport didn’t have GT3s to Beginn with no one would even play it. Whenever iRacing or other sims introduce formula cars or other classes they are always no matter what the least driven. So it makes sense to go with GT3 first if you want to set a landmark in the SimRacing market.

I'm happy to see the cockpit physics advance as before it looked like a stock image that would float according to the g force. Now you can see the dash flexing under breaking, the windshield looks much better and I just hope they keep working on improving the little details in cars as it makes them so unique. I do agree with one of the other sentiments that we need either an open wheel vehicle, mazda cup cars, or maybe formula cars to show off that it's not another ACC clone.

Pedal inputs seem very similar to ACC. Nice that you can attack the kerbs so hard. Slip angle seems exaggerated especially at Spa and from what we saw on the Katowice stream it seems like you can put some wheels in gravel without anything happening. I suppose such things will be ironed out, decent base at least.

Look like you keep way more brakes while turning into the corners than acc. Progressive breaking clearly happends way later as well. Brakign still need some improvment

@@damienfillos7516 I may be wrong, but I disagree. Braking looks identical to ACC to me. The only difference I see in pedal inputs is that he's more careful with the throttle inputs on corner exits than you would be in ACC where it's easier to slam the throttle.

I don't think so, he's very close to the windscreen which usually makes it seem slower, it's generally the stuff going past in the peripheral vision (side windows) that makes it look faster so if it looks fast with basically no side window, it's probably fast

No, generally speaking you can have a smooth driving style while driving the car more aggressively. I am also someone driving really smooth and it definitely worked out. Just have to find your own way around the sim.

Why do so many serious simracers don't use a full motion rig? No offense, but how close do you want to be to the real deal? Or is it the convenience of no motion to make it easier to get those laptimes or do you want to enjoy an espresso while driving?

It’s easier to get lap times in when nothing is shaking and distracting you. And I don’t think they are very much realistic, having driven both irl and sim competitively I pass on motion + it is very expensive, 15.000€ or more for a proper motion sim.

Triple screen is working with a bit of a workaround but I‘m using single because we used single screen at the ESL Katowice event and for practice purposes I used and still use single screen.

You have some FFB clipping on corner entry, would suggest to lower the in-game strength in Rennsport a bit and raise the power of the base to compensate to end up with a similar amount of strength but no clipping.

As I have said in the video you need a little bit of slip angle through the corners. In real life you do that as well so I like that quite a lot. I agree that sometimes it’s a bit too much but it’s still getting worked on.

Eau Rouge and Raidillon are the corners with some of the biggest elevation changes in all of motorsports. It’s like a wall standing in front of it.

Tracks are exactly the same, I have driven all of those in real life last year and especially Spa is absolutely perfect. Elevation changes are hard to get a feeling for on a monitor screen, Eau Rouge for example is absolutely insane irl.

The shicane towards start/finish At Spa looks really good with obvious depth on the kerbs, on other parts it looks flat and this might be because this is of course beta.

I'm really looking forward for Rennsport. It seems to cover all the right things with the correct execution. But one thing I would change - the HUD in simulators should never use bottom middle of the screen! So many of us are driving round steering wheels and they block that part of the screen! rF2 is the worst in that regard and you always have to find some modded HUD's.

@@riccardopuzzarini7924 I think its yery close to ACC. RF2 is more versatile, of course but has some bugs in physics. E. g. if you put all values to "best" (lowest tyre pressure), you're always the quickest, no matter the car or track.

​@@nuztuz903 it's literally adjusting 1 thing in the engine. LOD and grass distance rendering. The more fps you have the more you can balance the rest to work and look good. At start ACC wasn't playable on VR on most systems and few years later after release they fixed the performance issue so it's better. RS is not even open yet give it some time

I know there's the Porsche Mission R electric car, but is that a one-off type car similar to ACC with the Lambo ST, Ferrari Challenge and Porsche Cup? It would be an absolute shame, and a horrible business decision IMO, to make another core GT3 game. Surely there will be some prototypes, open wheel, and Group C etc. Snatch that WEC license from MG before they inevitably screw that up, too. 🤑

I mean as said multiple times, this game is still under heavy development and they said in multiple interviews that it will not be GT3 only. GT3 nowadays is the most popular class so it only makes sense to have them available first.

Thats all still under development, especially multiplayer. Right now we got the very first multiplayer version without any updates to it. From interviews I have heard they want to have a signup and schedule process like on iRacing + your own servers.

I found, that in ACC the cars response to a curb does not match the visual representation of the curb. Sometimes you can full send over a curb, and sometimes you will get warped into space by touching similar looking curbs.
