Yes, I agree with your sentiments about the monitor. I'm using a LiFePO4 battery to power an amateur radio and the battery monitor's reading matches perfectly a LiFePO4 battery voltage / state of charge chart. It is amazing how accurate the monitor is! Again, thanks for posting your very clear and understandable video.

Can you set the battery capacity to 50% of rated amp hours in order to get a realtime look at what you really have available.

Yes can set to 50% of battery capacity. I have in fact started using 50% to tell when to recharge battery. Works great!

I have the same one and love it! I just put in a renogy inverter in my 97 road trek as well and plugged in a 700w microwave. When it runs it draws 100 amps and 1.1kw wats on it. I’m curious, what is your air fryer rated for watts? Thanks!

Air fryer is 800 watts. Just love the Battery Monitior. The other day, checked my Jeep to see how much the charge was and see if there was no draw from my frailer when my Jeep was off.....worked great!

I'm on the fence with this monitor. I installed mine about half a year ago and I initially really liked it. Unfortunately it started flaking out on me about a month ago. It would sporadically sound it's alarm and tell me I had 0% battery capacity in my bank. I think I've tracked it down to a faulty pin on the wire that connects the shunt to the monitor. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a replacement wire. To be honest though, I'm not sure I even want to spend money on a replacement wire if this one only lasted 6 months. It's a shame because I really do like the display. Much more than other monitors on the market. Others like the Victron only show partial information where as this one shows everything.

Sorry to hear you are having a problem. When I am not using RV, I disconnect the plug on the back of the monitor. The reason I do this there is small draw on the battery when not connected to shore power and over time would discharge the battery.

It's fine to have an alarm beeper. But how I can switch it off?

I do not believe you can. Only way to silence is disconnecting display unit. You may want to contact Renogy to see if you can.

Just set it to 0 volt and it will never go off.

Nice, thanks for explaining. I just bought one and will be installing it this weekend. I do have a question. I have 2 100 ah battery which are AGM. would I set the battery setting at 200 total or 100?

The setting for battery would be 50% of the installed size. For you it would 100. If you use 200, then when 50% is shown as left in battery, you should recharge battery. Using battery below 50% charge reduces battery life

I have 200 amp hour AGM battery also. I have mine set at 100ah 50% battery discharge. Original used 200ah decide on 100ah since that would be best to get alarm for the safe discharge point.

So where do you put the shunt if you have two batteries ran in parallel? I have it hooked up to the negative coming off the batteries to my inverter so it shows the draw, but it doesn't show that the panels are charging. Do I need to run the negative coming off my panels to the shunt?

Before installing shunt, all wires on negative baatery post should be moved to battery shunt. Guessing that only inverter wire was moved. There should be the negative side wire on battery for the charge circuit that should be moved.

Capacity should be 50% for you it would be 100 amp. Taking battery below will reduce battery life. 2 & 3 look good. I am not near my RV untill Sunday to check the others. Will get back to you mid day Sunday 4, 5 and 6.

@ramblinroses6066 Thanks, much appreciated. Teck support have advised item 6 is automatically completed by the monitor after a cycle, leave as 0. They can't help with the others, so any input you can give will help. I have e two 100 amp lithium batteries...so total ah available is 200 amps. Hope this helps.

@@rvhtravels Sorry just realized you have a lithum monitor. I have a 200ah LGM battery (lead type) and monitior. Mine only has cap, high, low and alarm. It looks like your alarm should be 100ah to provide an alarm for 50% of battery used to allow long life on battery but of course that is lead batteries. Not sure about lithium batteries the 10ah you are using maybe correct not able to make a judgement.

What size cable did you use for shunt to neg battery terminal ?

I used #4 AWG but I have 2000 watt inverter setup. If you only have 1 wire on the negative side, it should be the same size.

do you receive charge from the alternator as well? if so, how do you manage to isolate the starter battery from the secondary ?

Good question. I have the factory installed trailer package on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has a larger alternator, not certain if it has a control circuit between the starter battery and 12 volt to trailer.

I use the shore battery charger provided with the rv which stays, nothing additional is needed.

@@trainmaster0217 shore power is when you plug RV into AC at home or at the RV park. Onboard your RV it converts AC to 12v DC to charge your RV battery.

@@michaelfrymus Do you have the refrigerator on 12v dc mode, refrig maybe drawing alot more than charging circuit from car depending on tow vehicle? Suggest turning off all 12vdc breakers in rv power panel with car on to make sure no draw on rv battery and see what you are reading.

@@ramblinroses6066 everything is wired correctly. The is a fuse tap with the ignition switch, but after 15sec of car being on, I see the monitor turn on and battery being discharged -- it's currently full, so it doesn't need to charge, but why is it discharging?

It's a nice little unit..... - means watts out and + means watts in sir, arrow down is amps out arrow up amps in. Time on the right is discharged time on load and remaining time till 100% on charge.

If the extra batteries are connected in parallel cofiguration together, it will measure all the batteries. The shunt needs to be placed in the lead going to your power source.

My monitor is installed. It also shows when power is drawn from the battery and how much. But the level of the display does not change and always remains at 100 percent. What am I doing wron

Not sure why staying at 100%. Try reprogramming. Also, try removing any power that may be charging batteries and see if percent charged decreases.

You can use the same for all batteries, type does not matter.

This unit is a hardwire unit. I have also seen other products that wireless which are more expensive
