It's like you organized a bunch of your previous tutorials in one single take. This is really valuable, no one is doing what you're doing with your level of quality, charisma and commitment.

Hey dude, really appreciate that! Exactly like you said, I've covered a lot of this stuff at various points before but I really wanted to have a series to specifically help people who want to get going in Renoise. I really do dedicate every spare minute I have to this channel so it's really rewarding to get such great feedback! Keep well mate :) ✌

Appreciate that mate! I wanted to make a really fun/engaging way for people to get stuck into Renoise which is quite an intimidating DAW. The learning curve is quite tricky so I hope this can really help people 😊✌️
@anthonyparks505 Жыл бұрын
You have certainly achieved this, it has made Renoise a viable toolbox in my production kit after 10+ years in Ableton. For complex break programming I would recommend nothing other than Renoise. Thank you@@groovining

Thanks mate! That's one of my favourites also. I've translated this technique to my other DAWs also as it's a great way to preview things rather than running the cycle round and round. My other favourite is to assign 'numpad 0' to open the plugin UI on the currently selected instrument. Such a great Hotkey! :) ✌

Wicked mate! Glad to hear you've been able to translate all this stuff out of Renoise into your FL. I nearly started using FL a while back but actually went to Renoise instead after a little test run. Its a great DAW but something about Renoise really caught my attention. It also has a super fast workflow which I loved. Big ups! ✌🥷

This is great - even though the vid is focused on Renoise, your method for slicing the sample is universally applicable! As a non-Renoise user who is newbie'ing it up in Ableton, this is tremendously useful!
@groovining Жыл бұрын
Cheers BukkeBizzle! Yes its the funnest way to slice breaks and I find it a lot easier to get the rolling this way rather than mesing with all the little peices! You can even make your own custom breaks and then chop them in this way :) ✌️🥷

Love Renoise, it's fantastic. Started off using Octamed on Amiga then onto Fasttracker. Lost touch of using tracker programs then found Renoise, I love it. Great tutorial. p.s. What is the program you're using to display the keys you press on the keyboard?
@groovining6 ай бұрын
Hi Craig, Thanks about the vid mate. I love Trackers also - good to hear how you've worked your way through them. Renoise is a beast & very creative tool. Kind of like a hardware sampler (Emu E4) combined with a tracker seqeuncer. I love it! ✌️😊 The keyboard is actually just native keyboard viewer on mac. support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/mac-help/mchlp1015/mac

@ioav10 күн бұрын
wow, the mono + 1> toggle is the setting combination I've been looking for, for years. makes breaks programming sound far more natural and offers use to slices beyond single sounds. edit: major correction: it's not just mono (which is on a per INSTRUMENT basis) but also the NNA (new note action) in the sample settings that needs to be set to "cut" otherwise the samples overlay eachother when they get retriggered which messes up some transients / causes doubling.
@groovining3 күн бұрын
I love that workflow of using the longer break slices also. It's sometimes a bit rough but in the best way. Thanks for the info - yea Mono with make that instrument only play with 1 voice. NNA will chop other instruments in that lane off when they hit a new lane. :) ✌️
@ioav2 күн бұрын
@@groovining indeed, I suppose the difference is that the 'note off' causes certain triggers like envelope releases and such, and 'cut' just stops playback. they both have their uses for sure. and thanks for the tutorial 🤙

Really good tutorial. What is your personal feeling about the sound engine you also use Logic?
@groovining10 ай бұрын
I think the sound engine in Maschine is good. It's not particularily unique but none of them really are. People who say Ableton sounds betten that pro tools or Logic are really just stabbing in the dark. I use Renoise also which does actually have a bit of a unique sound compared to the others but its still quite sutble and a lot to do with its sampler. 😊✌️

Seems the tracker is the perfect tool for running breaks. Wonder if I can send the midi out from the Nerdseq (modular tracker sequencer .. it’s like this but in a module it’s fantastic) and run the midi into Ableton .. I’ll have to try that
@groovining6 ай бұрын
Oh yea that will definitly be possible. I can do route midi from my Digitakt to Renoise/Logic just with basic midi over USB.

do you have any problems with latency using a MIDI keyboard? I'm using the keystep as well and the latency is really making live playing in almost impossible.

No never had any problems at all with my keystep - works perfectly. I would check midi/usb cabels, hubs, update firmware, test in other DAWs etc.
