@@EnderViBrittania You might go to the IsaacBrockSociety.ca web site to ask. I heard that Toronto has reopened with a 400 person waiting list. Also, some embassies are using an illegal "locals only" rule. Each embassy tends to make up their own rules that are not at all supported by law. NL is hostile toward expatriation. Someone said HU is good. CH has set it up like a factory, but they only do it Tu/Th and it takes weeks to get a slot.

Actually, it gets worse. Under FATCA upon completion of the interview process and before accepting your citizenship the IRS will require a $40k "expatriation fee" and 3 years of future income based on your last 3 years. From there on if you send present to people who are US citizens they owe taxes for the fair value of the gift at capital gains rates, until you are fully expatriated the same applies to any gifts you receive. Also, you had it right the first time when you said the reason banks won't open an account for an American is jurisdiction. The IRS and Treasury use citizen jurisdiction under FATCA to have live time access to your oversea accounts for any bank using the SWIFT network. I have to laugh at the social unrest in this country today when I hear the term "slave", they don't realize we are all slave unless we are politicians in this country. Just wait until the USDC comes into effect, the IRS and DOJ will be able to track your every transaction down to the penny, you will no longer be able to give people money directly, and best of all your money is "programmable". What does "programmable" mean? "Your" money can be programmed to prevent certain purchases by product or recipient and can even be programmed to "expire" within a given timeframe. Yes, the US government can giveth and taketh away anytime it wants at that point.
@dimitripetrograd98083 жыл бұрын
For people of moderate means renouncing their citizenship, they do not pay an expatriation tax. That only applies to people with a net worth of 2 million or making an average net income of $160k over the 5 year period before renunciation. www.irs.gov/individuals/international-taxpayers/expatriation-tax Everyone considering renunciation are still obliged to pay the $2,350 renunciation fee. www.investopedia.com/articles/personal-finance/060515/why-people-renounce-their-us-citizenship.asp

Look at Ed and Elaine Brown... back in 2007 they refused to pay taxes saying "show me the law", the government sentenced them for tax evasion. They both received 35+ year sentences. Its far easier to understand tax code (its called code because theres no law) and manipulate it to your advantage.
