Thank you for this, so helpful. I am a spiritual director but before I trained with the Jesuits here in Ireland, I was corresponding with Eugene Peterson. He told me that what I had to remember was that the main thing in spiritual direction was to show up and shut up! I never forgot that.

I have been listening this in parts, so hence my second comment! Trevor said that somebody should write a book on Jesus as Spiritual director. When I had to write my dissertation for my BA in applied Theology, one of the books that I used was: "Jesus, our spiritual director" A Pilgrimage through the gospels, by Wendy J. Miller, Upper Room publication. Thank you again for a wonderful interview.
