I love this abandoned caves renovation series! I do not understand what some of the rooms were or R 2 B used 4 but I still love & enjoy the series. It is definitely a large undertaking & I just think it is great 2 restore this project. I hate 2 C old, neglected, unused buildings. This is wondetful‼️

Such dedication and hard work to make this compound useable again. Also love that they improved the section across the road to make it useable and attractive. Would love to have a little information about what some of the reused items are.

Fabulous work, particularly those two men on the brick and path with cobblestones, really admire their hard work attention to detail, levels etc. Preserving the old, reusing stones. Also the use of the solar power. Great work!

Lovely!! I love how this turned out. Just a quick question: how does the paper covering the window holes not get torn out or wet from the weather?
@MaiLie19622 жыл бұрын
First of all it is thicker than normal paper and second it is covered with oil or wax. it can not resist an orcan or heavy storm, therefor you protect it with window shutters. In the old days, bevor the invention of glass all people used wax paper.

What is that large raised concrete block for. It seems odd and awkward in such a tiny room!
@Sliverbane2 жыл бұрын
If you're talking about the block off to the side of the room. That can be a bed (they lay down a cushion and blankets) or a raised platform to sit and eat around a short table. It's pretty normal in a traditional Chinese home.

love those large clay jars were they used for cabbage or soy fermentation? there were a lot of them - someone made a lit of whatever it was. - love the project = what will it be used for?
@KThom4292 жыл бұрын
I believe the place previously was used for some type of grain/rice storage or milling. I suspect the large jars were used as storage. I wish there was more information about this compound and what some of the reused items were actually used for. Very interesting!

A lot of it is stone work. Not everyone has those skills. They help where & when they can.
