Help me understand this. The orphan girl found an abandoned house in the mountains. She decided to keep it and fix it. How did she managed to buy the materials and tools, plus has two helpers? Is she an orphan with money and decided to live alone in the mountains? Can you just do what she is doing, just find an abandoned house and kerp it? Does she ask around fo find out if someone owns the land? Does it belong to someone she knows? How does that works? My inquiring mind wants to know. 😊

Not just anyone can move into an abandoned building. You usually need legal permission or an agreement with the owner before renovating or living in it.

There is no private ownership in China. They have to lease it from the state. I guess if they find somewhere abandoned they can renovate it, but will at some point have to deal with authorities.
