A mortar wash could be a nice alternative to a complete white wash, and then can always completely white wash or paint later! Love seeing these updates, you guys have gotten so much work done so quickly

Team paint it black!! But you could also do the black shiplap and paint the fireplace solid white with the metal black!

Your flooring is beautiful! I'd start with a whitewash first on the fireplace. You can always paint it solid if you don't like it. I think black on the fireplace would be too much for that room. White will be beautiful. 💖💜💖

Definitely go with the roll up bamboo shades in the front room. We got some for ours and in a more gray tone brown to match our floor. We like how easy they are and how much privacy you get with them. Our flooring is little darker than yours but the same rustic look with the gray & brown. They look good together. I think with your floor you have, you could paint the fireplace gray and do wood shiplap style to finish out the top. The brick above the mantle is just decorative, correct? If so, take it down and put framed rustic shiplap up. Love the light fixtures tho. They are cool 😎
