One of my hero's...met in Sausalito and spent day driving him around the Bay Area...amazing creature!...one of a kind...great as sea...but don't get him near land...inspired me to live aboard our vessel for 17 years and cruise...oh yes and with 5 kids! and a wife :-)

Francoise Moitessier's observations about the sea are poetic - infinite horizon, frightening immensity, turning into a small god. There are tons of connections to "Life of Pi" here.
