And now for our next installment of… You Broke It, You Fix It! Cap’n, I expected the Kubota was gonna have a breakdown… I was putting my bets down on the track. (No! Not the race track). Little did I realize that the curse under which the loader existed… would extend to the implements it touched! I agree, that hose channel is a breakdown in the making. I can’t believe they didn’t radius the corner. If it was mine… I’d have been practicing my angle grinding. But, then again, I’m not a Lieutenant-Cap’n with access to odd bits of fire hose. Burying wood is a great way to go green. It’ll return to dirt in a few years… if you’re not going to build over it… I can think of no greener way to go! Thanx for the giggles this morning!

Ya know Mike, a person in the family might paint a cartoon picture of a goat kicking his heels up on one side of the barn approach an a stressed out rooster on the other side where you enter the barn for acetic reasons. I used to do cartoons on flat rocks that showed what was planted on each row in the garden and the kids learned to do it too. Its lots of fun to teach kids to paint/draw pictures. One of my kids turned out to be a dang good artist...

I can see your vision of it in my head and I think it's going to be awesome when you're done. What you already have done looks great too. A little maybe next time you have to mess with those hoses(hopefully not for a while) hit the corners of the rake with a grinder to soften them and give it a more rounded over feel, then go back with the piece of fire hose. Should be a permanent fix. At least as far as that part goes. Still excellent that you took the time while it was apart to fix it. Love preventative maintenance.

You finally got 'er done Captain!!! Unusual for a fitting to shear off like that, wonder if there was a weakness in the metal ? 🤔 British parallel threads are common here, well it is my side of the pond 🇬🇧😁 at least you were able to get the fitting you required!! I apologise for breaking your microphone open, I lurched a bit too hard to readjust my seating position..... 😬🤦♂️ Level ground will be a sun trap, complimenting the view you have of an ideal barge and low flying spot !!!! 😎😎😎 Those hoses were well worn, very surprised that pipe had not been used along the top to minimise the problem, would only need a short hose to the motor then...... Just a passing thought Mike..... 🤔👍

I can't believe Kubota would use a British pipe thread fitting! I'm jealous of the power rake. Wish I had one!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Yard turned out really nice. Tuff luck on the problem with the rake, good to see things fixed and possibly upgraded with the fire hose addition. Funny how after seeing DP’s recent video of encasing hydraulic lines in firehose from the Captain I’ve been spotting opportunity for its use on a lot of the KZbin videos I watch in a day. Definitely an improvement on cleanliness. A local farm stand in Central NY has a bridge built in the trees to get their goats to the pen from the barn without cutting off access around the barn, was thinking it’s too bad the really big clay pipe is no longer available, was envisioning a tunnel that popped out of the hillside into the lower field with goats appearing from nowhere. In hindsight they probably wouldn’t like the subterranean feature as much as a flying walkway in the trees. Great to see your projects progress. Wishing you and your family the best.

Nice job. Speaking of Black Locust, shipbuilders from way, way, way back used it for what's called treenails. Many times the hull would rot away long before the treenails did. Fence posts will be there long after your grandkids are having kids. Good stuff for sure. Sorry you had such a fix-a-thon when you're trying to get some work done. These things happen. The side yard is looking good. I'm jealous of the views you have of the river. I could spend many a night sitting around a campfire in the early evening out there.
