I Am the Walrus" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1967 television film Magical Mystery Tour. Written by John Lennon and credited to Lennon-McCartney, it was released as the B-side to the single "Hello, Goodbye" and on the Magical Mystery Tour EP and album. In the film, the song underscores a segment in which the band mime to the recording at a deserted airfield.

I'm a 74 year old scouser. I bought this from Brian Epstein's record store in Liverpool, December 1967. It was on the Magical mysrety tour E.P. The song is in my mind's hard drive. You guys absoutely nailed it on this take...made it sound as fresh as when I first heard it 57 years ago. Well done lads!

This is how i like the REO brothers, in this small studio, where they are relaxed and sound so good. This song is crazy and once again the boys sound like they wrote it themselves. To be fair, the Beatles never had the technical kit these blokes have. They needed classical musicians playing real brass instruments. Having said that, this is a great version.

Other than the Rooftop appearance, they never played anything live after 1966. I have no doubt they’d have played this and many other later songs had they ever reformed from the late 70s onwards when performing this kind of song live was possibly from a technical point of view. George Harrison said many years later than “Now we’d be able to perform songs like Tomorrow Never Knows.”

What amazes me is it's not just the quality of their music but it's the identity and their voices you can literally hear John Lennon... And you can literally hear Paul McCartney when the other guy sings or even George A Ringo on their songs... It's more than ironic. It's just amazing

Arguably one of the best covers done by the REO Bros. They have captured that studio sound live with a very complicated song. Great and accurate vocals,use of keyboards and Ringo drum elements. I highly respect their talent and efforts to perfect the Beatles sound.

Just outstanding. This is surely one of the studio songs that the Beatles themselves dreaded the thought of playing live. That was just a great performance by everyone. But as a keyboard player that was just some tricky stuff to reproduce even with modern technology. Awesome playing.

@@elevenbucks5682 the difference between any other tribute acts and the lads is that 90% of their videos on here are LIVE and in ONE take ... there are many other great tribute acts out there but none do what the brothers do and that is to be in the same place performing live in one take and not being in separate locations or having huge amounts of post production to get their sound right ... what you see and hear is what you get from the lads with no trickery whatsoever ... this is what sets them apart from the 100's of other tribute acts in the world.

You nailed it! I have two favorite Beatles songs "A day in a Life" and "I am the Walrus" number one and number two respectively. The remaining Beatles catalog I just can't judge in terms of position in a list. There are so many great Beatle songs that there's no point trying to list them in a favorite order but the aforementioned song is definitely at the top. "I am the Walrus" is an artistic masterpiece with a never before written chord progression and a fantastic arrangement. Every time I listen to this song I get goosebumps and you nailed it!
