Changing the 14th Amendment takes 3 easy steps: (See Article 5 of the U.S. Constitution for more insight) *1.* Congress may submit a proposed constitutional amendment to the states if the proposed amendment language is approved by a *two-thirds vote of both houses.* *2.* Congress *must* call a convention for proposing amendments upon application of the legislatures of two-thirds of the states (i.e., 34 of 50 states). *3.* Amendments proposed by Congress or convention become valid only when ratified by the legislatures of, or conventions in, three-fourths of the states (i.e., 38 of 50 states). When we look at the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), first introduced for consideration as a constitutional Amendment in 1923, and you recognize that it has NEVER been ratified by the states to this day, you get a sense of just how easy it would be to alter the Constitution for something like this.

ERA did not get ratified because women already had equal rights. All the laws that were contrary to that were unconstitutional. He is wrong though. The 14th was written specifically to make former slaves citizens, and was worded to unequivocal. Repeal is the only way to get rid of it.

ERA has been ratified by enough states, but past an expiration date. Not sure if all amendments are tagged with an expiration date (sounds weird to me) but the ERA did have an expiration date. However, the amendment that granted the right to vote to 18 year olds, that amendment was ratified in approximately 4 months, so ratification is not easy but it is not impossible. I feel confident that the 14th amendment will not be tampered with. However, we are overdue for a public safety amendment for comprehensive gun safety so that we can end the carnage and provide context and balance for the second amendment that is so frequently misinterpreted. Let's give our children relief from the active shooter drills and provide them with a public safety amendment instead. 🗽

Well did anyone tell these people this would require a Constitutional change which require both the Senate and house to pass with 2/3 of the vote and then would be required to be ratified by 2/3 of the state. He cannot just take away those who are already citizen and just a law with simple majority wouod not make it happen. Now those waiting for asylum or had cross illegally or over stayed there visa he could easily deport. But this is going to work as well as Mexico paying for tha wall. Meanwhile if they actually deported all these people is the same as the government building 3 million new 1500 sq ft homes. In fact these countries my not even let Trump plane land in there country. Trump stupid tariff are going to met with them doing the same and ruining what manifacting we do have. American made product are many time better made but they are usually more expensive. Well in other countries they are not going to pay so much more for what they see a luxury good they have cheap options with. But in the USA we may even have a USA equal and if we do it is out of reach. Making a countries item more expensive will just mean American will buy a lot less. We are going to see a lot of business close down. This will take a year but once this happen ot will have a ripple effect just like Trump first 25% tarriff came into play right when Covid happen. At that time 60% of our good came from China. Today I think it has dropped to 40 %. But Trump want to put a 65% tariff on all Chinese items. This will imclide part, electrics will go up. This is going to basically ruin the world economy and well ruin us as being seen a country of trust in the dollar. The person I think we need to be terrified of is Elon Musk. Thank God he cannot run for President but I do not trust that man. Tnere is something very off with and K find it distubing people look up to him. Why he justbanother trust fund baby.
