Being conservative is exactly why I vote democrat today. With Trump ahead of the Republican Party, there truly is no longer a conservative movement in our country, and we desperately need that voice. Trump has successfully trained Republican voters to value far left ideas. 10 years ago, Republicans were the party of free trade and anti-tariffs. We were the party that most vigorously defended our intelligence agencies and the roles they perform. We were the party that most ardently supported Ukraine and fought most forcefully against Russian expansion. We were the party of limited government, arguing that US companies have every right to create jobs in other countries. We were the party that supported bringing foreign workers here on visas to fill roles and help our economy expand. We were the party of competition, desiring to compete on the world stage and asking only for equal tax terms to let us do it effectively. Today, we hear Republicans fretting about "globalists" as if this is a negative thing. "America First" supposedly now means that America closes its doors and eyes to the rest of the world. We are very lucky today that our ancestors did not take the easy path, putting up tariffs and other artificial boundaries to protect America from economic change and competition with the rest of the world. We are very lucky that instead of fearing immigration, they embraced it and created a country that attracted innovators. Today, republicans talk about bringing back factory jobs the world no longer needs. Our ancestors did the opposite. When the economy changed, they adapted instead of demanding the world adapt to them. And THAT is how we won and became great. We looked outward rather than inward. The "America First" ideas that Trump promotes are the best way to ensure that our descendants will inherit an America that's Last. We NEED conservatism, and the only way to get it back is to reject Trump and the populism/nativism/liberalism he brings. Trump was a democrat in the 90s, and his ideas have not changed. The man he put in charge of our economy, Peter Navarro, is one of the furthest left economists our nation has ever known.

Nah, we should all be consistent and honest that most of us don't want either Joe Biden, or Donald Trump. And select somebody we actually want, who can actually lead out country rather than selecting whoever can beat the other guy. The DNC doesn't care about its voters, it only cares about their votes. That became clear with Bernie in 2016, and continues to be so under Joe Biden. If you posted to support Joe Biden, then I don't need to tell you about Donald Trump of course, you probably already know what problems he also presents. I'm under the opinion that - if you want Republicans who stand up against their party and Trump, you should consider celebrating your own Democrat leaders who take an unpopular stand against their own party and leaders from time to time. It shows that they have principles beyond just being a politician, and are willing to take some kind of stand. Of course not everyone who is a naysayer is doing it for the right reasons.
