Just letting you know, ABS plastic is a biodegradable plastic derived from corn. It's what they use in a lot of 3D printers. Acetone with melt and weaken the plastic. Acetone gas is actually used with 3D printed pieces to melt the surface of the print and smooth out the ridges the layers of plastic can make. So yeah don't let freya too close to acetone. Good luck with future projects!

Watching your vids makes me wish I could do this. Especially because it'd be neat to make all my characters from games and writing as dolls. But I tend to start stuff and never finish them and have a lot of crafts that need finishing because of that. So at least I get to enjoy watching your vids instead. ^^

Those earflaps are on dogs too, Pretty sure it's for better articulation of the ears. So they can *actually* bend it. Without that it would be pretty hard for them to move their ears to the sides or down.

One of the easiest ways to make armor is with thermoplastic. I've used black Worbla before and that stuff works like a dream. You can also use craft foam, and seal it with PlastiDip, but I haven't personally tried that yet. Covering the pieces with aluminum tape is a good way to make it look like real metal, as well, then you can just paint over it with acrylics for weathering.

James Barnes I tried Worbla for my Undyne custom doll, it worked well, but I had problems with the texture >< I think black Worbla is smoother? Haven't thought about aluminium tape, maybe I'll try thatnext time! Thanks!

Mi I've found that black Worbla seems to shape easier, for some reason. It also has a better base color for making shiny. If you can't get rid of the texture just by shaping, you can try using a couple coats of an automotive filler primer that you can sand, I've done that to help get rid of build lines in 3D prints. Aluminum tape will also cover the texture, but it can be tricky to use on more detailed pieces. Good luck! Armor is always tricky, it takes a lot of experimenting sometimes!

Thanks! Yeah, I might be changing out the wig later. But since I worked on her for like a solid month I don't want to touch her for a while, you know? lol! I do plan on making an armor vid but it will probably be a while from now. Basically, I use fun foam, a votive candle, and some clever painting to get the armor to look legit.

I was thinking the same thing. But only after reading all the wig criticisms. I don't think it bothered me that much, a white wig suits her. But I think if it were a yarn wig in white the texture and softer tapered edges would compliment the costume and faceup. It would be like the softness of cat fur and I imagine, from what I see of the behavior or yarn wigs, it would allow Freya to look like she's active and adventurous just like her look and costume suggest. I even thought that maybe a short wig with long front and kinda spiky would be fun (like the length of the lead singer of Fitz and the Tantrums but not so styled and gelled). Maybe it would complement the face mold on the cheeks. I really like the face mold that was added and the face up so I may be biased as I'd like to see more of Freya's face. That kitty is so dang cute! +Dollightful congrats she's a cutie! you did such an awesome job. her markings are stunning!
