I'm actually glad you didn't cover the repairs from the previous owner, as you've said on prior pony videos, it's kind of like a little visual history of the toy. I feel like so long as the damage isn't fundamentally detrimental (the hinge doesn't stay in place or a figure will not stand) then it's okay to leave something of it's own little life with it. ❤ Also, as what others are saying, your voice is very charming! I like hearing your personal input on your projects. Good work as always!

fantastic job! you really can’t tell it’s painted, those colors are so smooth. this is definitely an opinion and not a suggestion/critique, but i actually loved the soft green/deep orange color scheme that it had discolored to, it would have been so cute if the colors weren’t so uneven. same with the faded sand color looking nicer than the original bright yellow, it’s just cool how sometimes by chance time and wear actually enhance things 🤔

Either I loved it because I loved nature, or I began to love nature because of that tree house. I would keep some of them in my bathroom for tub time or to help me be patient when learning to use the potty. I remember I even had the ones made themed after Mighty Max.

I have a suggestion for people who are painting on plastic without an airbrush... I've done this many times and it helps a lot. Instead of adding water to your paints and doing lots of thin watery layers, which does work but can be very time consuming and frustrating for mixing colors... Add a little floetrol to your paints on your pallet. Floetrol, as the name suggests, helps you control the flow of your paint. Acrylic paint is notorious for drying very quickly, which results in more brush strokes. Thinning with water does help the paint flow but dilutes it's colors and opacity. Floetrol helps eliminate brush strokes by allowing the paint to flow well enough to sorta self-level and let the strokes melt into the layer. You can also increase the opacity of acrylic paint by adding just a small amount of cornstarch. Increasing the opacity means fewer layers for full coverage, which is very important when trying for a smooth paint job on a tiny piece. I hope you guys find this helpful... K byeee

Loved the sounds of the cleaning and repairs! Personally, I've never been a fan of the epidemic sound library music because they all have a more somber tone to them imo. I feel your videos are more upbeat because it's like "Yeah, we're breathing new life into these toys that likely made a child or two very happy." Maybe if you dabble into some upbeat video game tracks? Usually those are free to use. Music from games like Pokemon HeartGold & Soulsilver or Pokemon Black & White are often really good background tracks I find.

I invested in the paints you use a while ago and they're some of the best paints I have ever used for repainting figures. Used them on my 2 most recent Mattel Jurassic world Fossil Fighters repaints and I was so surprised with how pigmented they were. Especially the red, I am super used to most reds even in pricier acylics being super transparent but I only needed one layer with minor touch ups. Before I was using cheap paints so I didnt use up my nice ones that I use for illustrations. I wish they made sets with larger bottles because I am also using them for figures I make with clay, and some are quite large lol. I am in love with these paints.

I love your videos!! Just as a comment, not a criticism, but I'm a painter, and one thing I noticed that you do while painting is allow the paint to reach the binding of the bristles. It's mostly fine to do from a technique standpoint (though it can cause old colors to sneak into your current mixture depending on the paint and medium), but it makes the brushes lose their shape much faster. If you're having trouble with stray bristles, loose bristles, odd shapes, and less precise markmaking, try mixing with a brush you don't intend to paint with, or with a palette knife or mixer :D Also, seconded your recommendation for the better paints!! Paint quality is extremely important, and affects your results a lot more than one would realize! If anyone wants to get into paint-reliant hobbies (especially if they want to save money), my recommendation is to get a variety of primary colors & a couple different black and white variants, and NO secondary or tertiary colors like purple, green, orange, gray, or brown, because the temperature and specific hue of the primary mixture greatly impacts the result of your mix. You can't make certain colors with certain reds, blues, and yellows no matter how hard you try, and it's important to choose the right temperature and pigment in order to get the result you want :D (black and white also have different strengths and temperatures, which is why I included them in the list). If there's a specific mixture you tend to use a lot, you can even make your own batch and keep it stored in a specialized container for future use!

I can imagine the struggle to find fitting music for every video. There is so much music out there. No way to listen to all of it and decide what to use. But to be honest, I don't think you need new music for every project. I noticed other creators on youtube just re-using songs or having five different songs they switch back and forth. It never bothered me. If anything it made me connect a particular melody with a channel. Thank you for always trying things out. Good luck with the new cat!

It looks great after you gave it some TLC. When you have cracks like that, have you tried adding some super glue in thin layers and hitting it with baking soda? It will fill them in, and the baking soda makes the super glue cure instantly. I'm wondering if that will work on Polly pocket playsets (or atleast plastics of that type) I love that you're working on whatever needs your help. The variety is fantastic. Keep up the lovely work❤

I loved the absence of music while it lasted! The music is just an acceptable nuisance. It doesn’t improve my experience and it’s covering up the much more pleasant static noise, work noises and whatever human breathing sounds you might feel self conscious about. But I understand that adding music is the accepted norm and you prefer to avoid attracting too much of a fringe audience. Personally I thoroughly enjoy shoe shine videos. I like to view the skilful work while hearing the soothing noise of it, but very often, if they don’t talk too much, don’t add music and there’s not too much ambient noise drowning out the shoe shining sounds, then I will do less viewing and more just listening and let the faint noise keep my brain distracted from thinking - which can be broken by talking or music or sounds that trigger alertness. Like bells, crying or knocking. I adore the sounds of drawing and painting. As well as the select noises you are letting us enjoy :) the sped up toothbrush soap scrubbing and the sanding are so good. I don’t normally love when there’s taking over my nice lovey sounding videos, but you just always sound so sweet and passionate and your voice isn’t “loud and overly excited in your face” like Nerdecrafter, Graveyardgirl and Royalty Soaps (all very sweet and talented but I just can’t deal with the yelling voice projection). You aren’t doing that at all and it’s such a relief to find cool female KZbinr, who are more like I see myself and not performing a jester role that requires unnatural levels of vocal excitement. So, one KZbinr I follow, who uses music in all of her videos (Dollightful) would nearly always use just one default copyright free music track for all of her videos. She tended to use some different ones for spooky season, but then occasionally she would straight up use a different music track for no reason and it felt like the videos were almost not hers anymore. In fact, I saw an entirely different video by a different creator and in a different genre and they were using the same track as Dollightful. I couldn’t take that channel seriously at all. My brain just associates that track forever with her channel now and doesn’t want any changes to that illusion. I can’t associate your channel with any single music theme. But I do associate it strongly with your voice/accent (which are lovely) and those working sounds I mentioned prior. I would suggest leaning into either no music or always the same music. Because if it’s the same every video, then at least I’ll get used to it and will hardly notice it’s there until it isn’t! I enjoyed this video and look forward to your next one 👌 Your channel is one of my favourites. Love your sincerity and “small” channel energy. I would like to collect new cat tax in your next video!?!?

I can't name any specific songs but nothing somber I think is ideal. The "Blooming Meadows" song was nice and relaxing but upbeat and positive while the song "Notice" felt sad which didn't match the vibe of the video or colorful cheery item you're painting. Think of positive things maybe people would listen to while studying or cleaning so motivational? Edit: Took a little look here on KZbin, maybe you can get an idea from a video I found titled "🦙🎶 Energetic Alpaca Vibes: Uplifting Tunes and Adorable Alpacas | Delightful beats". You don't have to go THAT cheery but think about what you're restoring or customizing. Is it something colorful? Then pick a song that sounds colorful! Edit 2: I'm not trying to be a negative Nancy, but after reading other people's comments I have to speak up that I do not like ASMR (at all). I love to hear you talk and i like the quiet parts where it's just music or a paint brush noise but I always mute or skip over the ponies getting baths lol

I saw someone use high heat (open flame) to QUICKLY blast faded and discolored plastic once to brighten it. Worth a try on an old piece of similar plastic? I do realize that here you are dealing with moving parts and paper decals. Ps when I say quick mean seriously quick - or else melting and black soot stains form. Again, just a wierd thing I saw someone do to "revive" an old piece.
