Just lean your box blade to one side a little. Go down one side of the road then come back up the next.

Not enough weight on the rear axle for that full load of gravel, add rear ballast with wheel weights and rimguard.

Great question, Dan! Your local John Deere dealer is your best resource for technical questions like this one. You can find your closest dealer at Deere.com/Dealer.

Good video, but water is a very important part of any good blading project. Without water youll not achieve compaction and rock will segregate leaving nothing but marbles which will need scooped up and removed and replaced with new rock. A good rule in the finish grade business is to never move dry rock. Each time its done youll lose fines.

What would be a good base to put on top of sand, to help support the gravel?
@deanmeyer18153 жыл бұрын
A fabric made to place on top of sandy and soft soils with a crushed rock that is approximately 1 1/2 inch in diameter down to dust, 4 to 6 inches thick on top will compact when wet and makes the best surface.

#2 gravel makes for the best base
@thesmokewagon63023 жыл бұрын
Dean Mey gave a great answer. People sometimes want to avoid the expense of the fabric on soft or loose solis but it can be critical as well as cost saving. Simple put, it keeps the gravel from being mixed/absorbed by the underlying material such as sand or damp clay mixtures. Think of the underlayment material kind of like a soil stabilizer without the brutal cost when doing smaller projects like driveways. Most of the fabrics act as a moisture barrier as well as keeping the base material separated.
