I repair a tire puncture on a Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle. I got a puncture close to home on the back tyre of the motorbike. I remove the rear wheel and change the inner tube in this easy to follow step by step motorcycle puncture repair. Watch as I get the bike back on the road. The rear wheel on a Himalayan is 120-90-17 and the inner tube I sue is Mitchelin airstop. I prepare a Himalayan ADV bike for travelling around the world.

Great video. My luck will run out soon, but I have 7000 miles mostly off road on my Himalayan and no flats yet. I know I will need this soon.

Brilliant. Honestly I must be lucky as in over 10 years riding I've never had a puncture so it's really useful to watch someone change a tube before I have to do it in the rain at the road side with no idea lol. Great video, again.

When replacing a tyre, you should start opposite the valve, then you can get the bead right down into the well of the wheel and give you more 'slack' to get the rest of tyre over the rim. When you get near the valve, push it inwards to let the bead sit in the rim correctly. There is less chance of nipping the tube done this way.

@@WeeJaunt BTW if you go to a tyre fitting place with a small container, yogurt pot, small tupperware or something like that ask ask if you can 'buy' a small amount of tyre lube for emergencies, they will no doubt give you enough to change several tyres and not charge you anything.

It's worth keeping a tiny container of tyre fitting lube + a scrap of sponge with your spare tubes - makes both removing and re-fitting much easier. From your video, it looks like the Himmy bead is pretty easy to break - not so simple on the rear tyre of a Tenere 700!

Yep, for most you will only need one purchase of lube, you don't need much. It will last you for the lifetime of the bike.

Martin, all three of those tires will work well. The Pirellis are standard on the Himmie in the States and seem to be a fair compromise. Noraly seemed to have good luck with them. The other two have large fan bases in the States. By the way, love the little GIFs you put in your videos at the most opportune moments. They bring a chuckle. Ride on!

Thanks Kevin.. There are alot of how 2 videos out there. My thinking is always how to be a little different. So little gifs and doing mods in the middle of nowhere or in reasonably interesting places. Not so easy now with the weather and the early sunsets. I eventually went for the Mitas E07 tyre. Its 50-50 on offroad. Been solid so far mate 👍

I was riding my Himalayan in icy conditions on Saturday and noticed I had a puncture on my front tire. Tempted to fix it myself but I didn't want to damage the rim & I'm a bit heavy handed. This is useful info to know if you're not lucky enough to be able to ride home or to a mechanic, fortunately I could ride home, remove the wheel and take it to the mechanic in the car.

Great video thanks for the upload I always call that a “Spacer” but sometimes when you do a video in really time it just slips clean out your head 😂 and if it helps anyone putting the tyre back on I usually start putting the tyre on opposite the valve it allows the tyre to pull into the rim a little further making it easier to get the last bit on. Ride safe fella enjoying your channel. M

Good job just a wee tip I don’t know if you do it or did it but always strap up the brake leaver at the front learned that the hard way it helps to stop the bike rolling of the stand✌️

A small lifting bag could be helpful when installing the rear wheel. Simply place it under the wheel, pump up to the height and install the axle.

You can get a small 'tool' that lifts the rear wheel enough so you can get the spindle in the hub.

I see you have 666 subscribers - hope for one more, no resting on that number, lol.....K60 Scout, great 50/50 tire and good mileage out of it - I had them on my Suzuki DR650 and Suzuki DR400Z and they were great for street and for gravel roads. Just my 2 cents. Thank you for the nice video, enjoyed it. Ronny

Thanks Ronny. Aye moved past that number pretty quick lol. I'm grateful the subscriber count goes up everyday. Not as a vanity thing it's great to chat to new people on here with similar interests. I looked at alot of tyres and finally settled on the Mitas E07 it gets similar good reviews like the k60 eh. So I will probably try the k60 scout next time round as they are similar money 👍 anyhoo thanks for the input and thanks for watching Ronny.
