Repair and replace luggage wheels

Was finally able to finish repairing the wheels of 2 Samsonite luggage!
We did try to have Samsonite service center fix it but unfortunately they didn't have parts to do the repair and even offered a discount for a brand new luggage
But why throw away a good quality luggage and spend for a new one if you can repair it with a bit of elbow grease at a fraction of the cost?

There’s a rivet and four screw’s holding the wheel assembly. Tried drilling the rivet shaft from the back. No luck

Very nice and easy to understand video. This is the only video that I could find that explained how to replace these Samsonite spinner wheels. I also can't find the compatible housing for Samsonite and being able to replace just the wheels is a plus. The wheels are really all that wears out. Shame on Samsonite though for making it so difficult to replace wheels. We shouldn't need to use a hacksaw or any saw just to change wheels. I've replaced wheels on Travelpro before and that was easy.

Great video. I had same problem with all 4 pieces of my set. My set was 9 years old . I took them to Samsonite store in Ontario, Ca and paid $75 to have them shipped to repair center. Within a few days I received email letting me know that they could not repair my luggages but that they would replace all 4 for free. One week later I had an entire new set shipped to my home.

I got 2 of 4 done so far on my Samsonite Xenon 1 (???) laptop spinner bag.... I chose your method on purpose because I can't find replacement OEM wheel fixtures..... The dualies are a pain altho they do look cute

From what I have seen here and elsewhere, replacing a wheel and axle can be done, but despite the fact that one can find the full replacement piece, it isn't generally possible to replace the whole thing if more than the wheel is damaged. The piece you acquired here indeed does look like the wheels that are on my Samsonite carry-on (I haven't found anything that looks that similar), but in my case, the housing is truly part of the wall of the case, so replacing that part isn't possible. I had to check my suitcase for the first time recently (Ryan Air) and they probably threw it and it landed on one wheel, leaving only a worn screw sticking out and the wheel pair, axle, and swivel missing. The head of the screw is not reachable, so even if I found a compatible part, it could not be attached. So this one is junk. I do regret not looking at these instructions before returning an Eddie Bauer bag for the lifetime replacement a few years ago when the simple wheel wore out. The replacement bag was nothing like the original--more like a duffel on rollers--and is pretty much unusable. Replacing the wheel would have been much better. No thanks, Eddie B.

Used regular ones. Yours might be a special screw or bolt. Maybe an allen wrench?

Hi, have you any idea how to change or retread the small wheels of a samsonite smallest cabin size case? Dragging it over rough surfaces makes a heck of a noise, it is embarrassing and anti-social. The case is in perfectly new condition, just those clackety wheels are a nuisance!

Do you mean the rubber lining around the wheel? There was a repair option for thst but it costs too much. Best to just buy a replacement wheel I think

You dont need to cut it! They are Just press fitted. You can just pull them of!!!

That's a bit more difficult to come by. Try to search online for luggage wheels. There are sellers that sell the plastic frame and the wheel as a set. U need to check measurement and dimensions so it fits your luggage
