This was a great help in diagnosing the problem with my car's infotainment system! The radio / car phone & CD player just stopped working one day and there was a burn silicone smell in the car. I have a 2013 S60, which had drainage problems in the past but that had been "fixed". This short happened after a huge rainstorm, which most likely flooded the whatever the moonroof is supposed to drain into, resulting in the amplifier getting fried! It's good to know what needs to be fixed. Now it's a matter of getting it fixed and ensuring this doesn't happen again.

Hi, Can I bridge the channels in the volvo pa200 / pa300 amplifier? for subwoofer

you are getting close. the water however is from the sun/moonroof drain system. which can/should be drained manually every other year (via left right columns) cause volvo engineers are, you know, perhaps not as smart as we hope they are, plus it does not rain much in sweden :-)

to add insult to the injury, they also have a complex sensor underneath the amplifier :-) but we do love volvo! at least i do

a 4 layer pcb for something like that is insane, if it was a simple double sided or even single sided pcb you could likely have fixed it.

yes but the throwaway attitude is why the world today is in trouble, fixing things like this is satisfying and good for the environment. :)
