Thank you so much for showing how to repair a kilim. What type of cotton thread do you use to make the knots? What thickness?
@michelleoler7550 Жыл бұрын
Hello! Beautiful job! I’m dyslexic and need to know the name of the knot you used to tie off fringe. I will have to study. Thanks!

Wow am amazed by your skill and innovative approach 👏👏👏. Can you pls tell me what's the tool called you are using to hold nidle?
@Mars-Teppich-Service2 жыл бұрын
In English called pliers, in German called Zange, In Persian انبر Thanks buddy for the right answer. I have just edited it 👨💻

@@Mars-Teppich-Service I think "pliers" would be a better description in English. Tongs are a slightly different tool.

What kind of thread do you use? Also, what did you use to seal the cut edges? Thank you for a very detailed video. I have a Persian carpet that needs a new fringe. I found the fringe in 10 meter bolts from a company in North Carolina. I just need to know what size needle and the correct thread.
@Mars-Teppich-Service2 жыл бұрын
Hi, The white one is cotton, (Baumwolle) the black one is wool that I made an edge for this Persian runner rug, And the Needle depends on carpet how old, hard, and small knotted is! I think on this rug I used number 7 needle When a carpet is soft with big Knotted needle number 3 or bigger then 3 must be used. And when a carpet is old, hard with small knotted maybe you need needle number 10 or 12. Keep in mind when the number on Cover of needle increase the needle is small Wenn the the number on the cover of needle decrease the needle will be bigger and bigger Thanks for your beautiful comment.
What Pattex Product are you using for your repair. There’s several products on the internet and it’s unclear

Hello, great result :) I have a question concerning the side border, why do you use white thread instead of black, obviously it doesn't show but is there a particular reason?
@Mars-Teppich-Service2 жыл бұрын
Why I use white ? Because end of edges must the same color with fringes. The reason is fringes Fringes are white👍🏻

You do not cut away longsides langett, it´s a importent part of a carpets identity. And then put another coloured one there. As a collector I would newer buy this damaget piece, it has lost 50 % of it´s original identity. Theese folkart pieces most be restored with great respekt ..

Ja it is very important, We don’t cut at all the important parts of carpets, We cut what before some repaired and again damaged Thanks
