Repair Shop Tour - Store front and sign re-design - Any ideas

As a graphic designer here are my suggestions: 1. Don't put up 2 signs. That may confuse the customer. Your best bet is to get a new sign designed, thats bigger than the current one. Then center it between the two shops, which would indicate that NorthridgeFix is taking up the two locations. That, in my opinion, would look the best 2. Its clear to me that you have a red and black color scheme on the outside. I would continue with that and create decals with those 2 colors for the new store, to compliment the other store's décor. 3. You already make repair videos, wo why not show them off? Invest in a small TV (Maybe 27-23 inches) and show off how you diagnose and fix devices. 3. Why not incorporate RGB LED strips? They'd look amazing in the windows. 4 I would suggest going with a flat, modern theme for the new sign, which will attract more customers Good luck with your store!

Just that sign you have is perfect, I would just patch that bad spot next to the sign. I would focus more inside the store. If you are backed up, it’s only going to get worse and worse each day. If you can’t keep up 100% on a daily basis, you need to get extra help or raise your prices to regulate the incoming work. When/if it slows down, you can lower the prices if you want. But you don’t need to worry about advertising. You can’t handle the daily work as it is. A great problem to have. Congrats!

Move the existing sign more centrally. Then get a vertical sign for the upright column, to bring the 2 sides together. Similar window stickers for your new shop. Job done!

Hi, Just few suggestions... 1. You can build wooden open coupbords with laptop size compartments rather than the steel racks...it will give you more space. 2. Categories you incoming devices based on issue...like charging, Tristar, display...so that you can work on multiple devices with same issue...that will increase your productivity... 3. Apart from big boss..you can have someone just to assemble and de assemble...so that you get motherboard faster....also the time you spend on assembling and checking can be reduced. 4. Wires are everywhere on your work station...keep it tidy... 5. Divide the total items by days you have...so that per day items that are must to repair before going home...so that you stick on the schedule....this you need to do on daily basis as daily the qty of total items to be repaired.. Lastly you need a hand....you buisness is growing...so you have to grow your team. Thanks

Paint the brown spot and the one that the sign will leave behind and just put your sign in the middle. Then use the same signage type on the other windows to blend it together.

Holy moly buddy you have a ton of work cut out for you. Lot and lots of work. Only thin I can suggest for the sign issue is, A) Make a bigger sign to extend and fit in the middle of both stores or, B) have a painter paint the patch up with the same color.

I’d say get a giant sign that stretches from both stores with led lights to make it really stand out, even from a distance, I’d say also put led lights around your store so it can be seen from afar, my dad has a few businesses and does this as well, maybe also add some new modern window stickers as well, just some ideas 😄

Paint that brown spot with the same color as the building and move the computer repair sign to the middle/center of both storefronts - don't need another sign - then take repair specialist sign to the new door or computer parts or have a computer parts sign in the new door front - that's my idea - save some money by centering the large sign

Hey Man. Really love your videos. I think your present sign is good. Simple and uncluttered. All you need to do is enlarge/ elongate it to cover both the stores. Making it bigger/ longer will make it stand out even better. You also need some signage on the second store glass doors and windows. You could also split the two stores into lets say a sales/ customer/ storage space and the second could be your office/ service/ repair space. Keep up the good work and god bless.

Salam, another sign might cost around $10,000 with permits and taxes. I dont know actuall sign costs in CA, but I know they are not cheap. My advice is to move the current sign in the middle and save that money for online advertising or even assets equipment etc. But the best is to save it for family **vacation** to reset and relax for few days :) .... ask your viewers on recommended family vacation spots .. lol

I suggest revising your external signage that will occupy the both shop, adding graphics as well together with the store name like pictures of laptops, smart phones, Xboxes, etc this visual graphics will help customers far away or driving by can easily notice your shop

I would use one overhead store sign for both store fronts. I would move the window signs to the new side and use the new side for shipping and storage. (then it doesn't matter that the windows are covered) Then customers could see the retail and repair side through the windows. I would make the street signs bigger print for easier viewing, existing spot could say computer fix and the psychic could be changed to tablet/phone fix. Top (existing) sign should probably be the thing that brings in the most business/profit. How much you spend should depend on the amount of your walk-in business compared to mail-in.

Is it possible to apply some vinil or paint the middle collum between the two doors? Will be great to clearly see that you shop is bigger and better trying to "connect" one wichothers with a fixed banner, for instance, and, as is , it's consuming a considerable slice of your front part. A bigger sign on the center with no changes on the logo but just highlighting the "Northridge FIX" would be awesome too. Another tech and awesome side thing is to show your KZbin videos and the youtube logo on some device. People normally recognize the youtube logo with a KZbinR and U definitely make success on It! for the upper sign, do the full width! include name and the description like your current sign... but on the window in your new space make it look like broken phone screens (so it looks like the window is broken) and add text like "need a repair?" or "screen repair!" something like that. Great job with with everything! I would say move the door from unit C from the right to the left i.e more central? Unit c perhaps remove the signs from the windows, people see customers in there that's a positive thing. Put one on the central column that tells you opening times for the week. put some signs on unit d windows as you don't use that door etc. Make sure you have console and mobile repair advertised as i don't see this much??

Your repair-shop tours are very interesstin everytime. Its so interessting to see what you have done and what you are going to do with the second shop, the next work-attempts, your stuff you buy for yourself and for your webshop. Very interessting. Now to the question about your sign and front of the second shop. As one viewer said before, you should put the sign in the center/middle of the shop, or better a new bigger sign. It should have your logo „northridgefix“ much bigger on it because this is the thing that brands in our brain, in the brain of you costumers. The window infront of the other shop you should put some text on a sign, like the sign on your first shop. Maybe you could write what you repair like an enumeration and above your logo. People that walk or drive infront of your shop should know what you are doing, what you repair just when they were passing by slowly. And when you put your logo on it too, people would link the „repair“ with your logo „northridgefix“. But think about not to write to much on the sign, people are mostly very busy and lazy to read much text at this time. It has to be short but informative. So that would be my idea... I do that for a living in my day job, far far far away in europe, but you need to either do a board that is the same way has the old one or you need to remake everything to keep a certain "continuity" of the design/image. i wouldnt cover the whole window on the doors, it gives the feel that the store "wants to hide stuff" inside making it look "shady". I would do simple lettering for the window/door and a one big billboard on top. To put one image you could use the "brick colun" between the 2 stores, starting at the floor and ending at the top of the door, making it all flush and even. whatever you do dont think about one publicity and then another and the another, you need to think about the whole image and that needs to work with all the design elements. Also you could take one high resolution picture of the store front and give you accurate measure. on a door, window, etc (using that its easy to find all the others)

I would move the sign to the left so it sits in the middle of both entrances. Remove the banner and add the information on the wall behind the arch. Remove one Sticker from the right shop and add a another one to the left entrance.

Just get a bigger sign that covers both storefronts . The sign should just say Computer, Phone , console repair on bottom of the sign. Company name in large bold lettering dominating the majority of the area . Keep it simple ,clean ,bright , but not gaudy .

You can put up one big sign and make Computer Repair bigger but you also do sales and that is not advertised. You said you get a lot of walk-ins and sell 4 chargers a day on average, maybe you should consider an additional sign for the accessories/ tools.

I sincerely consider to not use rgb led Stripes or blinking signs due to bad aspect related to organization. It have to be a perfect job to make rgb sign good to be seen day by day on a store like this. Something cool using rgb could be slow shadows behind the new plate at night.

I am wondering how much repair works coming to your shop,probably it would be more then any authorized service centers.You need a whole lot of team to make yourself more comfortable from those repairs.I think ,for the repairs,you have to go for easy ones first ,so that it will increase your efficiency.Also I think you need more bigger space.Ask your neighborhood shops 'WE BUY GOLD AND DIAMONDS' (That's my field) for expansion.And for the sign board you can put a larger led sign board instead of one that has written every thing ,customer need to know, about your shop.

Seems to me, that you need at least another 3 new members of staff my friend. Could i make a suggestion. I was thinking of having a mobile box trailer (like a food van type) to do repairs here in the UK. There are a lot of small towns in my area that do not have a repair shop. I thought if ever i get it off the ground have a screen showing the live repairs. Folks would be curious and would possibly create more interest. Maybe a silly idea. But it would interest me. So yes maybe a large screen in your new shop window showing you doing repairs.

Suggestions for store front: Replace the existing single shop banner...with large one , keep North ridge small...keep focus on any make any model...that should be highlighted one... For the column between the two shop...use it to fix wall decal.. Make one shop for repair/storage...another for shipping...direct selling and customer corner... Also instead of keeping full laptop....de assemble it and put its parts with labels alphabetically.
