Repairing a CRACKED Small Carousel Horse .

A little Carousel horse came into the shop for repair. It had developed a crack on its forehead and in a few other places. Using two part epoxy and a little Quikwood Epoxy, I was able to repair this little guy. The real challenge was matching and blending the paint using my Iwata airbrush and some other techniques like dry brushing. OH How I Enjoy A Challenge.

I expect previous companies she asked thought they would not make enough out of it to be bothered. Seeing how you took it on tells me you are more interested in the challenge, than the financial reward. The mark of a true craftsman in my book.

I do love a challenge! One project I want to bring to the channel is building an Albany cutter swell body sleigh. I want to learn steam bending and have been slowly collecting parts and pieces to build one from the ground up. I marvel at the thought that those were being build before electricity in small workshops. Those are true craftsmen in my book.

I'd love to see more on building a traditional carousel horse from scratch. I'm really keen on building a couple myself. I build stuff, but I'm not really a wood worker, so getting started feels really overwhelming. i want to do the old carousel horse builders justice by doing things the way that they would have.

Not offended at all. That horse is not my design just simply repairing it for a family. Hopefully soon, I want to carve a full size carousel horse of my own and will share it on my channel. 😊 Brett
