Took the first one out of the holder correctly, from the 'back end' - and then proceeded to pull the other one out of the wrong end, then putting both back in the wrong end - DOH!

What was the problem to make you change brushes ?

They have worn down so the motor would not have the power needed to drive the blades enough to cut the hedge, it will also sound rough.
