Just wondering why you didn’t put washed gravel around your riser pipe? It helps filter out the soil from getting in the pipe.

Speaking from someone who had no idea what FIELD TILE was, that looks a lot harder to lay out than FLOOR TILE. Good job PROBLEM SOLVING the drainage issues! Why are the vent pipe holes under dirt? They don't need a sleeve around that riser to keep mud from entering the pipe? Maybe it's high enough, but just in case...
@DirtPerfect5 жыл бұрын
Lol floor tile is much cleaner also don’t have a good answer to your ? Other Than that’s the way it he instructions say to do it lol there are holes all the way to the top tho

Them clay tiles were all done with good intentions, but man, they sure didn't last! I've dug out a bunch out of my yard and most of what I found that happened to still be round was full of dirt. Hey, don't pull too hard on that riser... whoops!! lol! Hopefully those repairs work out for y'all! Thanks for the video!

That clay tile was great technology 40 or 50 years ago but definitely outdated now I don’t know if you have any orangeburg there but the clay is a lot easier to work with orangeburg was basically compressed tar paper always goes oval and crumbles when you try to attach to it. Getting er done nice job Mike 👍🏻

Good to see you thinking about trench safety, we've had 3 or 4 guy's killed by trench collapses here in like the last 6 months here in little rural eastern Idaho. We don't have any drain tiles around here that I know of but was wondering why they would use something like clay tiles for the pipe? Loved the video!

Dam hate to hear that clay was used because there is a clay tile plant about 25 minutes for here located based on the clay me have in the ground around here thanks for watching
@sassafrasvalley19395 жыл бұрын
Actually... clay tile was “state of the art” for this application until the 70’s. Especially so, if you had a USDA grant or loan. My dad and I did a Dairy barn drain into a collection pond... I know because I ran the pick and shovel. Fond memories: the dad part... not the digging part.

Great video .. house hold sewer systems tied in to the village system they have had a few back ups ,, brown trout swimming in the basements of homes .. they make a one way valve that stops that ,, don't know how big of a one way valve they make ,, could install them near the end of the drain in the bank so the river don't take them ,, if they make a valve big enough ??

On the end at the river,put in a section of steal pipe. Than put on a metal flapper on it. This way water can go out ,but when the river comes up the flapper will shut and stops the pressure.
