If moon disappeared suddenly, it would have dramatic effect to Earth's seasons. The moon stables the Earth's tilt, so if moon was no more, Earth's axial changes would be more extreme, we would have super seasons. Currently Earth's tilt changes between 22.1° to 24.5°, but without moon Earth's tilt would be as much as 45°. There would be more ice ages too.

I'm a Mercury lover myself. Phenomenal properties when you really study it. But my favorite is Venus solely because it revolves around the Sun faster than it can complete a full rotation, making a Venus day longer than a Venus year.

I also like the fact that nasa have found volatiles on the surface of mercury which means it had to have formed maybe even outside the orbit of mars! Space is fun, isn't it :D
