THIS WAS OF GREAT HELP. I HAVE A 2003 SPORT TRAC (FORD). LEFT LOW BEAM WAS OUT. REPLACED BULBS EASILY. STILL NO LEFT LOW BEAM. WELL, THESE SUCKERS HAVE A 10 AMP FUSE FOR THE LOW BEAM. ONE FOR EACH SIDE. CHECK THESE FUSES BEFORE BUYING LIGHTS. LOCATED IN THIS POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX, UNDER THE HOOD, SITTING BEHIND THE BATTERY # 38 LEFT # 42 RIGHT. CHECK YOUR OWNER'S MANUAL TO MAKE SURE YOUR'S ARE THE SAME LOCATION. REPLACED THIS 10 AMP FUSE LEFT LOW BEAM WORKS FINE.

Spray some WD40 on em, even cooking oil will help

I have this exact same ‘04 Explorer but the last owner took no care of it. This headlight replacement was a hassle and a half to get done with all those years of neglect hidden underneath those meta pull tabs

This was SOOOOO HELPFUL!! I had NO CLUE as to HOW to get that damn headlight assembly out, to change bulbs. I'm assuming that the 2005 I'd just as straightforward as the '04 that was changed out in this video. Correct?

This was a great video made the process so easy on 2005 Eddie Bauer V8. I was just changing the low beam bulb Keep some WD40 handy because the brackets be hard to move

Hey, this thing is killing me! Trying to reattach the headlamp assembly. The outboard tab will not reconnect. Two things: 1) difficult to get enough of the screw into the hole so that the locking tab will catch it when pushed down, 2) seems as if the locking tab will not go down far enough to catch the screw even if I can get the screw deep enough into the hole. This one was hard to get released when taking the headlamp out in the first place - need some advice quickly, please. Butch.

AND JUST FYI..... WHEN REPLACING BULBS, FUSES, ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS, APPLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF THAT ELECTRICAL GREASE TO THE ENDS. IT WILL SAVE YOU MANY PROBLEMS LATER. SAME GOES FOR RV, BOAT, TRAILERS, ETC. PREVENTS RUST AND MALFUNCTIONS CAUSED BY WATER. IT WORKS !

01-05 Explorers require (2) separate bulbs (correct?) bulb #9006 for Low beam & 2005 for high beam...right(!?) Oh and since the video failed to mention which bulb goes in which socket... anyone know which bulb location is the low beam and/or which bulb location is the high-beam(?)

Except mine had an additional support on the bottom of the headlight assembly that only God Himself would have been able to will out do to it's placement. Luckily, after taking the battery out, I had just enough room to wiggle the bulb out and replace it. The video was helpful though.

1 lever popped up easily with my fingers but for the other one i took some pliers and got a good grip on the left and right side of the lever...not the tip. It took a pretty hard pull put the popped right up.

I used the 9006 on mine today and it worked fine. The machine at wal mart told me 9007 but it wouldnt fit. I called the dealer and they told me 9006 "if" your truck has both a high beam and a low beam bulb that are separate.
