Thank you, brother! Just did this job on my '05 9-7X with your video as my guide. Went great. My shock bolts were 18mm instead of 19mm. The bags were really jammed on there at the top. No tabs or clips involved. Just really jammed. Had to use the old chisel and hammer to rotate them off. Like a previous commenter noted, I needed to jack up the entire rear end at once and remove the shock bolts on both sides to have easy clearance for coil installation. Thanks again!

Good video. Helped me do my Saab 9-7x. Just two pointers from my experience: 1. I had a helluva time getting the top of that bag to turn initially at about the 4:00 minute mark in the video. It’s super awkward to try to get at it above the frame and the little nub they give you to turn it is barely enough. I chose to get my drill out and just start drilling the hell out of that plastic disk right where those 3 inserts go up into the metal. It didn’t take much of that and it all came off super easy. 2. Just to make sure people are fully aware: Make sure to jack up the entire rear end of the vehicle and not just one side, or you will not get the clearance you need to fit the springs in! 3. If people are wondering which springs to get, do your research or you might wind up with the rear end jacked up into the sky! After a lot of looking at options, I went fairly inexpensive off of Amazon, but from reading what people had posted and seeing pictures of them installed, I was pretty sure that it would be the right ones for the best height and ride. I’ve had them on for months now and zero problems. Perfect and couldn’t ask for anything more. I went with the OREDY Struts Rear Pair Air Spring to Coil Conversion Kit 65220c for about $80 for the pair. I’d highly recommend it, with just one caveat: if you plan on doing HEAVY towing very much, maybe go with something more beefy, but know that your rig will be way high in the back when it’s not under a load... I do not plan on doing that, so the above option is perfect. Feels and looks factory, and no more airbag BS to ever have to worry about... Happy swapping! And thanks again OP for the video!

Thanx for the no nonsense video. My '05 envoy's compressor is failing to inflate the bags and a bag is leaking as well. Replaced the bags 4 years ago. I'm going with the conversion. Any pointers on how to keep the compressor on line to utilize the auxiliary air option,(inflate tires, mattresses, etc.)?
@jloney Жыл бұрын
If you could plug or terminate the air lines somehow. However, 12volt air compressors are not too expensive. You could shove one in the cubby.
@toxikelement13725 жыл бұрын
Bless you lol My roommate has this car and I got the air springs, but figured would need the compressor too. Which is expensive. I was thinking of spring conversion instead. This is a great, clear video. Got mine for $80 at 1Aauto. You should check that site. Has a lot of suspension packages for good prices.

just basic tools. All what you see in the video. I did not hide anything. All online part suppliers will have this conversion kit. As well as, your locally owned and operated parts store (best choice). I will not tell you where I bought mind because I do not promote businesses. Good luck

Hello, great video! I was wondering, after you completed the conversion, were there any dash warning indicators “check air ride system” or anything like that?

Not at all. Thanks for the great question. unless you tow every day, I do not see a downside to this conversion

@@jloney Prices for the air pump replacement is much too high - like $500 - so customers need to go to the spring conversion. I dropped the airbags and did the conversion and the rear rides higher now and the difference isn't much different than the airbag system. My vehicle is an 06 Envoy Denali.

Looking to this to my 97x, but I’m sure which one to get. There are so many different companies making the kit! Which one did you buy? I’m only asking because the one you got, gave you the same height from before
@jloney5 жыл бұрын
They are probably all made in the same factory. Just don't get the xl version. It's for the 7 passenger version of the trailblazer
@antsensation5 жыл бұрын
John Loney I’m sure they are, but i would like to get the same exact ones you have because i know from what you showing in your video, the height ride remains the same which i like that. I’m also planning to do the air lift 1000 kit because i tow with this vehicle. Do you happen to have the part number for the one you have? I search the web and can’t find any part number for our vehicle
