Replace Motorhome Kitchen Tap. Reich Vector S Kitchen Tap, No Microswitch in a Swift Kontiki 650.

Forward planning, you should have a look at the bathroom tap, just the large o ring started leaking on ours. The fixing screw is so close to the wall I had to shorten a Torx head to get it to fit in the space. had access to a well equipped workshop, not something 'd have been able to do "in the field". Used DIY brewers sealing gel on o ring. Relocated the fixing screw into the front of tap. Not found the cartridge as a replacement part yet as that will fail at some point, others Riech tap cartridges available but not the vector S..

Hi jeremybragg9980, thank you for adding your comment, I did also have a leak in the bathroom shower mixer tap, see the video here, kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5_YhqCva96oidU. These leaks as said in the videos are completely my fault, I did not relieve the pressure in the system by opening all the taps before parking up our van. Hello butty, I've had a similar fault with my Reich Vector tap. Hair line split/crack inside the spout. So I took it all apart from the top without disconnecting the main hot and cold feeds, just undone the small Torx screw on the top and bottom and it all came apart, leaving the Plastic inner still attached from below. I superglued over the fracture, changed the Cartridge while It was stripped down just in case. Put it all back together and working great, but it will swivel in situ, with no leak. I cannot remember if the body of the tap is supposed to swivel? And I cannot for the life of me figure a way of stopping it from rotating if you allow it to.The bottom grub screw stops the outer from lifting up , and the top grub screw is for the piece around the hot/cold lever. Any idea if this is supposed to rotate, doesn't seem right to me, most taps are secured from below with the retaining nut, but this is already tight holding the inner part of the tap. Sorry for the long winded question, all the best.

Hi Mally125, there is a a seal which sits on top of the counter between the tap and the counter, you can see the broken seal in the video on the table around the 4.06 min mark in the video. The new tap I purchased came with a new one which can be seen in the video, briefly The nut underneath is just tightened against the underside of the counter and stops the tap vibrating while traveling but if forced the tap will still move, there is no locating lug or anything to keep the tap in a fixed position. Hope this helps.

@@trytofixitmyselffirst4940 Sorted it out mate, after I left the comment I did some research into those taps. There is a 120degree movement in them. If you look at the base of the inner there is a cutaway that the small grommet/ washer fits into, the one with the small torx screw. When i was refitting the top of the tap I had this facing towards me, it made it easier to line it up and tighten. Once the whole thing is tightened down that small grommet/washer/spacer thing stops the tap from being pulled upwards. Crazy design if you ask me, but it might be of help to anyone struggling to get a Torx bit into the back of the tap to undo the screw, just need to rotate the outer body to gain better access. Do you still have the cartridge? Could you post some images of it please. I'm trying to source replacements, nothing lsited as for Reich Vector s so I need to compare images online with original and don't want to strip down. Many thanks

Hi jeremybragg9980 again, I did not keep the cartridge as I was replacing the complete tap, I did not take any photos of the cartridge either, but I did strip it down further to take a look at the cartridge as other forums I have read have said these can be problematic, but in my case, these cartridges had nothing to do with my leaks. All you needed to do was to replace the o rings on the white plastic part, about a fiver

Hi Destroyer, thanks for the comment, unfortunately for me this leak had nothing to do with the cartridge ,it was the tap housing at the spout end after the O ring on the main tap body that had a hairline crack. On the video around 13.15 you will see the spout and main body separated and all of the tap was good beyond the cartridge and the O ring on the main body, but with the tap closed and the pressure in the system the water could leak through the crack in the spout body after the O ring.
