Thank you for the explanation - couldn't find it anywhere else. Where I'm stuck - getting that L to be in the correct place before adjusting. I see you crank the "pole" but mine won't move left or right. If you don't see this soon, I'm sure I'll figure it out - but getting that L to line up on the left is where I'm stuck!

Hey thanks for the comment. Yes moving the shaft, under the nozzle, can be difficult at times. Especially if your 4” pop up sprinkler head is old. Here are a couple solutions. You could replace the sprinkler head, like dig it up and replace the whole body, then twist on the new nozzle and set the left side. You can also grab a pair of pliers/channel locks, softly grip the shaft and turn it with those. Just be careful to not scratch the shaft too much. You can get a hand towel and place it around the shaft then grip it with the pliers/channel locks. Don’t apply too much pressure to the shaft, cause you can split or crack the shaft. I'm familiar with rain bird but not hunter brand. Are they any goode? Are hunter sprinklers compatible with rain bird?

Yes Hunter sprinkler nozzles are compatible with rain bird sprinkler bodies, and vice versa :)

Also Hunter has excellent irrigation products… equal to rain bird.
