Replace the Eyepiece on Lumix Cameras. Are Older Lumix Eyepieces Compatible with Newer Lumix Cameras

Steve I've reached out to Sean and hoping to here back from his at LUMIX USA but I might as well ask you perhaps you can help again. I thought I had bad bad spot on my g9ii sensor. I cleaned it but it was not it. After a bunch of trouble shooting I am almost sure there is some kind of dirt on my inner EYE PIECE. The mark is not on the photos or the back LCD. I also cleaned the eye piece where I put my eye. No go. I can not figure out how to get the almost air tight eye piece off so I can see if the dirt is in there. This is all my own thinking, perhaps it could be something else. ON my gh5 and gh6 the eye piece comes of way too easy. I've spent 100 dollars on replacement eye pieces for those cameras. I'm afraid to force it off.

Hey, It might be worth shoot on a white piece of paper with some even lighting and see if it does show up on there viewing it on a larger computer monitor. I often need to clean the rear elements on my lens as they cause smudges but you can only see then when that part of the scene is very light. It's not visible on the viewfinder unless you are very zoomed in. Using a rocker blower on the sensor and around it (not too close) with the camera facing down can often shift out some dust and dirt from the body.

@@stevelitton Steve, I know for sure it is not the sensor. It is not showing up on the photos at all and it is not on the back LCD. But I asked on Facebook and the woman said and posted a snip from the manual saying it cannot be removed and then another guy weighed in saying there’s two little screws and he changed his because he wanted a bigger one. I think if I could just get that piece off that might be the problem somehow a big piece of dirt cut in there if it’s not that well, there’s probably deep rooted problems, somewhere in the mirror or something who the hell knows

What's the max resolution this camera offers using a USB type C for live Streaming?

The GH6 doesn't offer live streaming unfortunately. The GH7 can do Live Streaming up to 4K 50p though I believe.

@stevelitton so, even if I have a hdmi capture (such as blackmagic atem mini pro), and I work with OBS software I won't be able to have a nice live stream? Because I just tried streaming with my GH6 but did not like the video quality (tried with the USB type C and the HDMI directly to the atem mini pro)

I am not massively in to streaming but the best I am able to get out of my GH6 when connecting it using my USB-C capture cable is 1920x1080. To be fair I don't actually have a full 4K display though (3456 × 2234), so there may be a limitation there.

@stevelitton Thanks for taking your time to answer. 1- Did you use a specific configuration for you to have that quality?(Is there a way for you to change camera resolution through the usb-C?) 2- When you obtained 1920x1080 Did you work use OBS ? 3- As I don't have the usb-c that came with the camera, is there any significant difference when using an aftermarket cable? If so, what other alternative cable could I buy to replace it ?

No problem. I use this HDMI to USB-C adapter and run it straight in to my laptop - amzn.to/3C4Xm7H Then I use the 'Video Capture Device' option in OBS. I think you can use the Lumix Tether feed through USB-C but it seemed a bit laggy when I tried.
