You saved me a couple hundred $s, Dude! Very insightful and I appreciated the torque settings and fastener sizes. Thanks so much for this excellent video.

Great video. Only thing I would do different is change the coolant. It's cheap plus it will lubricate the waterpump. You could reach drain knob from top. Especially with long arms. Use hydrometer and test old coolant or just replace with Zerex Asian coolant. Well done video though overall.

Are you an automotive technician? You are excellent at demonstrating "how to". Thank you for the video. My sister needs hers changed (03 Corolla 1.8L) with only 37k!

I would like to add, after refilling the coolant you need to run the engine with a bleed funnel to get the air out of the coolant system. Then after bleeding top up the over flow bottle.

Helpful but I found that removing the bottom radiator hose is more helpful because it minimizes the chance of air bubbles being trapped if your not gonna use a specific funnel, and just dump it back in like in the video. Also id change the thermostat if you haven’t while your in there. Removal of the alternator exposes all of the to the 10 mm bolts. Good video tho thanks

Dont worry bout warping or cracking the old water pump, its no good anyways. No need to be careful with it. And, the step of the other pulley being in the way of the last bolt was left out of the video.

Mu 2006 corolla is leaking water kinda in the midle of the engine underneath intake manifold. Should it be a bad water pump? Idk what to think

Should I replace my radiator if there is no leaks? My 2008 Corolla has 238 thousands miles with all original parts except serpentine belt and parks plugs.

Leave it alone u less there's a leak

I’m running into a problem I cant get the bottom bolts loose because my tools I only have a small ratchet 2 other ratchets but extension too long which won’t work a 10 mm wrench won’t work what length are those sockets ?
@wjm30186 күн бұрын
Why save on new toyota coolant. A jug cost about $20. Thats the main reason why the pump goes bad.😂 but ngood job on tutorial.

What about the torque specifications for the alternator?
@BudgetMechanicHawaii4 жыл бұрын
Not sure. I do arm torque ;) snug with a 1/2” ratchet.

Can a bad water pump cause the AC to not work properly?
@wjm30186 күн бұрын
No lol it's not connect3d. Could be a bad fuse or connector or ac compressor or condenser Probably a leak from condenser but you need to get it inspected with dye freon to find where there's a leak.

Fantastic video! What kind of torque wrench is that? Looking for a recommendation because mine did not fit
@BudgetMechanicHawaii5 жыл бұрын
It was an amazon one I believe. The 3/8” ones with low torque readings are the most useful for most people

Not sure without being there to hear it sorry. Catalytic converter's will make a screeching noise under acceleration when they are clogged tho!

just a generic water pump or designated water-sealing rtv from a parts store. usually its blue. I know a lot of guys even use the black stuff designed for oil and they say it works fine
