Thyats actually a C C V system . The small orfice elbow has a check valve in it . If you blow on it with your mouth , you can hear it whistle . The big elbow supplies air , though the air filter , the little orfice , a mixture of , always positve pressure valve cover air and vapour . When they start plugging , they get wet around the grommets . Mine ran much nicer after . Lets see if it reduces oil consumption ?

You've inspired me to go to a mechanic for mine. It's 22 years old and could be the original for all I know. Troubleshooting mine. I was on a long drive and everything looked and sounded fine. Then all of a sudden my cruise control is not working properly. Engine runs fine pressures normal. 100 miles later no cruise. Engines running fine, but my engine lite is on. I put it in park, looked under the hood, it was filthy under there but the only thing noticeable was the rear PCV valve leaking out of the valve cover. It was a known issue I had a leak, but I checked the oil and put it off since I use the Jeep two to three months out of the year. I got going again after verifying my oil level hadn't dropped. It revved up something fierce when in park again. I quickly got moving 100 miles later everything is fine. It nolonger revs in park like it did. My theory is it's my rear valve not working, but let me know if you understand how that correlates with my cruise control. Anyone else is free to chime in.

Great video, and when I replace mine pvc valves, I use a snap plyer and place them on the neck from the bottom, not too much to break them but enough to apply pressure and they came right off.

It's little things like this that often get overlooked that can make a big difference in the long haul.

6:35 in and you are giving me a panic attack. If it's breaking on top it won't take much to break on the bottom. My mechanic can do it or I'm pulling the cover and doing a general inspection anyway

Sorry for the panic attack. 😬 Risk/reward thing always challenges me to move forward. lol

How NOT to change these two vents
@ssiddall222 Жыл бұрын
They would likely be easier to remove if the engine was heated up for a bit.

What is that spray
@onmission316 Жыл бұрын
It is a degreaser spray … brake cleaner type. I don’t have that can anymore. I get my stuff in the Walmart automotive usually. 😉
