I forgot to mention it in the video, but I also replaced the fuel filter too. After looking at the footage I still don't think this car is performing as good as it should be. As mentioned I hope to eventually move away from the piggy-back ECU and get a proper PCMTEC tune done on the car. Also this video wasn't intended as a DIY guide as I'm not an expert. Make up your own mind before deciding to attempt it yourself.

You upgraded the swirl pot and pump not just the pump... pump is the motor looking bit within the sniper pod. Should have gone the walbro 460 or 525 e85 compatible pump inc the big sniper pod. Get rid of the ancient history piggy back ecu and get a full pcm tec tune. Your issue will be the tune, not springs pump or filter. Have several of these cars.. pcm tec tune is the best for them. Delphi supplied products to Ford & Holden. Not sure on Toyota as I've not owned one for many years. Sean, have you checked your sparkplugs & leads? I was having the same problem with my ute recently so I replaced them & she's bang on. It also helps if you know a mechanic with a proper scan tool to re-check everything besides fault codes. Did the fuel filter show any particles? Living in a country area, we don't always get good clean fuel at the bowser. A mate's ute had crap in the tank so we cleaned the tank, replaced the filter, cleaned the lines, checked & cleaned the injectors & fuel rail. It's all a process of elimination until you find the cause.

It is more important in this procedure to realise pressure from system "start car and pull out fuel fuse till engine stop".You were lucky your petrol tenk was under half and you did not have hight pressure in system, but disconect batery put wire from disconnected minus to plus will reset ECU to factory default and you will get more milage on clock and accelerator pedal and trotle need relearning proces or "calibration".It is professional explanation from Haynes repair manual book. After that your trotle will have hight respond and you will ask yourself how car performance is double hight than before procedure.

If you ever occasionally get the smell of fuel as you're driving, or you get the smell of fuel in the cabin when you've filled it to the brim, then you could have a leaky o-ring, best of replacing it, or you can get fuel resistant silicone, and silicone seal it.

And e85 compatible pump ,might have been a good idea,(this pump might be enough, ) ,so you had the supply in case you wanted and e85/flex fuel tune so you can run both and changing the fuel lines is overkill and unnecessarily, if the fuel lines handle e10 ,e85 won't have any effect I run it in my au 5.0ltr lpg ute for years with no modifications just to idol on because I don't like smell of petrol fumes ,I have had to change the old fuel pump since thou but that's it. These aren't that expensive or complex from what I've heard and e85 fuel is a great complement to a turbo car because it burns cooler and works well with a high compression environmental helping to stop pre detonation when you up the anti and will give you more horse's . Also has a fruity smell a lot less toxic than premium and you can get it at all United's for around the same price as premium, you do use a bit more, but you could alternate depending on what you using the car for.

I will NEVER EVER buy a replacement fuel pump for the Falcon with the brand name FUELMISER supplied by "MOTOSPECS" Australia, Glendenning, NSW, through Repco (Model FPE-355 EFI Fuel Pump). The workshop fitted one that stopped reliable quantity indication in about 8 months, the second lasted longer (maybe 18 mths) but now failed also. Cannot say I thought the FUELMISER brand spark plugs set I tried was much chop either, quickly replaced. MOTOSPECS claimed in a lteer the fuel deterioration was at fault but the BPO info sheet supplied did not support that claim at all. MOTOSPECS did say they would refund the pump price but I have never seen a hint of money anywhere so probably BS hot air.
