We had a simplicity mower that was just like this one years ago. It was one heck of a good mower. Can’t remember what happened to it but it gave up the ghost and was going to cost more to fix than it would have been worth. It sure did get used a lot over the years. Our yard is quite big and it got fertilized a lot back then. If it was a wet summer it would get mowed two times a week, if not 3. lol. Seeing that old mower of yours brought back some good memories 😊. Excellent video all around. Thank you for putting that together!!!

Done a few tire and here is a few tips. Lots of lube soap works but tire lube is way better to get them off, Longer bars hold the rim with vice or bar drove into the ground just something to hold it and give you more leverage. Tire lube to fantastic to put on hoses too. Take the valve core out to get the beed to set, more air can go in faster. Nice job you got it done.

you did a much better job than I have in the past. The last few times, i couldn't get it to seat with the ratchet. I ended up pouring about 2 tablespoons of gasoline around the rim and lighting it. The quickly expanding air seats the tire and then you fill it up with the compressor before it cools. I wouldn't recommend that process to anyone, but it sure brought a smile to my face.

It is not as dangerous as it sounds. The expanding gas puts it self out leaving the tire at a safe PSI. I worked for a mechanic and he would install car tires using this method. He said the gas fumes reduce moisture in the tires over time.

Using the rebar as the fulcrum junction. Push/pull the hands of the pry bars away from one nother. Repeat again for second bead. Lube tire well. Dish soap works well. Push first bead on. Outer bead needs pry bar step in reverse.

Thanks for your video, it is very helpful. I just saw something that might help you change the tires. Get a 3/4" x 6" bolt and place the hex end in a vice. Then put your tire over it and get a short nipple galvanized pipe for a collar, and then put the nut on the end of the bolt. Tighen it down until the wheel is snug, this will keep your wheel from moving around and will make it easier to change. Thanks, Larry

I just had to do the same thing on my 1978 John Deere 210 front tires. I think both tires were glued on because I could not get them to side back from the outer rim. So I cut the biggest part of the tire off, then worked on the bead which has steel cords. It took me almost an hour to get one completely off. Then to put on the new tire. I studied the rim and found that both sides had the same measurement inside, so it didn't appear that it would make a difference which side I used to put the tire on the rim, but after looing again, I measured across the rim and found that the the inside rim had a diameter 1/4 inch less. So be sure to measure the dia on both sides. The smaller dia should make it easier to to do both the removal and replacement. As to getting the new tire to air up, I put a shot of Break Cleaner inside the tire and used a fire starter stick to create an explosion inside the tire. The explosion produced enough pressure to blow the tire out to the rim. Air when right in. No problem. Using the Break Cleaner can be dangerous. Only use a very small amount. You don't need very much. I saw this used on another video and it worked very well. If anything here makes sense, remember to measure the diameter of your rim first. One side may be less than the other like mine was.

just got to put 3 20.8x38 tires on our 876 versitile 4whd tractor at over 1000per tire. have a great tire man he has some great tricks work on tires .1 if you cant break the bead down on a tire leave a little air in put a board(2x4/6)up to the rim and then drive a vehicle onto the board , 2 get a set of vicegrip pliers to hold your position on the rim as you move around with your bars. 3 lots of lub on the bead going on. he buys wd40 by the case ( is slow to evaporate than soap and water and doesnt bother the tube. 4 he uses talcum powder on the tube and wheel so it doesnt stick later. 5 a clean rim keeps you from having tube trouble down the road. when putting a 95$ tube in you dont want to do it again . some tractors have calcium water in the tires for weight it is very corrosive to metal and not fun to work with, newer equipment generally use safer chems. good luck hope these tricks help someone down the road have fun from n okla.

Puting the soap on before you mount/dismount the tire will help the tire to go on/off the wheel much easier. You might want to invest in a snap ring plier to remove snap rings. It would be a good idea to support the tractor so it does not lean over when you remove the tire. A couple of blocks of 4x4 would do the trick. You need to think about your personal safety before you start a job such as this!

I have searched the net to see if the tread direction matters and can't find anything to say which way they should be or whether the lines on the tread should go to the inside or the outside or what the lines mean. I see that your tires have the tread going the same way as mine on both sides; Anyone know it it really makes any difference? Seems like the tread should be angled the opposite direction on the two sides, but maybe it doesn't matter.
