Fixing this machine has been the highlight of my week. I had no idea just how poorly it was sewing until I installed the new motor. The machine is so quiet. :)

Make sure that you keep your original foot control. The new one that you received with the new motor may not be very reliable over time. The old one, if it was working well before your motor quit, may still have a lot of life and you can connect it to the end of the new cord.

That's so awesome to be able to replace the motor so easily and inexpensively! Those old machines really knock it out of the park for reliability. While I love the computer interface models of today, the old, heavy-duty solid machines are irreplaceable!🤩

I undersant you perfectly! I have an Alfa sewing machine which belonged to my mother, I also had to change the engine and fix the light, but it works wonderfully. I'd may need to change the needle stem, but this is not urgent. I hope your machine continues to give you as many moments of happiness as it has so far!

I have an old one that needs rewiring so I might do this instead it is a very old 130. Love these machines and have one already but this new one to me was so cheap because of the wiring to the foot pedal I could not resist. Thanks so much

I use the sew-o-logy belts that can be purchased at Hobby Lobby. They are inexpensive and fit my machine well.

The machine is run by pressing gently on the foot pedal. It will sew at different speeds based on the pressure you apply.
